Prayer for healing my mother legs and healthy body

We are praying with you for your mother and we are grateful for the love and honor you are showing her in bringing her need to the Lord. Scripture commands us to honor father and mother, and part of that honor is to care for them tenderly when they are older and weak, just as they once cared for us. Your intercession for her is itself an act of honor that pleases God.

We know how long and wearying knee pain can be, especially when it has lasted for many years and when doctors speak of an operation. The Lord sees her suffering and He is moved with compassion toward the sick and the hurting. When Jesus walked among people He did not turn away from those who came only seeking help for their bodies. He welcomed them, had compassion on them, and healed many. The Bible teaches that He Himself bore our pains and that by His wounds provision was made for our healing, both spiritual and physical. Matthew reminds us that He took our infirmities and carried our diseases, and Isaiah points us to the suffering He endured for us.

God is able to heal today. We do not need to be swayed by exaggeration or showmanship that sometimes is done in His name, but we can quietly trust that He remains the same compassionate Healer. At the same time our culture trains us to trust only what we can see and measure, and that can make it harder to simply trust Him. What pleases God is simple faith, a real trusting and committing of ourselves and our loved ones into His hands. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, but when we come trusting Him, He is pleased.

There is a difference between being near to Jesus and actually reaching out to Him in faith. Many people pressed around Him, but one person touched Him with faith and power went out to heal. That touch was a point where faith was released to receive from Him. We encourage you to keep coming to Jesus for your mother in that way, not just once but persistently, trusting Him and not turning away until you know you have placed her fully in His care. A mother once came to Jesus desperate for her daughter and she would not leave until she received His answer, and her faith was honored.

We also remember the promise that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. It is better to bow willingly now in faith and confession than to wait until we are compelled. Romans tells us that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. As you bow your knee before Him now on behalf of your mother, you are acknowledging His lordship over her body, over her knees, over every pain, and over every decision about treatment.

We join our faith with yours and ask the Lord to touch her knees and restore strength and health to her body according to His mercy and wisdom.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus we bring this dear mother before You. You know how long she has suffered with pain in her knees and how much she longs for relief. You are compassionate and You see her need. We ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon her, ease her pain, restore her joints, and strengthen her body. If it is Your will, heal her without the need for an operation, and give wisdom to her family and to her doctors. Above all, let her and those who love her experience Your presence, Your peace, and a deeper trust in You. We confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over her life and her body, and we put our trust in You. Amen.
