We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your brother-in-law in prayer, asking for His divine healing and restoration. The discomfort and struggle he is enduring with gastric issues, GERD, and acid reflux are not unknown to our Heavenly Father, who sees every pain and hears every cry. We know that our God is the Great Physician, and in His mercy, He can bring relief where medicine has been slow to act.
Father God, we ask You to touch ### with Your healing hand. You are the One who formed his body in his mother’s womb, and You know every part of him—every cell, every nerve, every organ. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to weaken his body, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray that his digestive system would be restored to full health, that his appetite would return, and that the irritation and bloating would cease. Strengthen him, Lord, and give him the grace to endure this trial with patience and faith.
We also lift up his medical care to You, asking that You would guide the hands of his doctors and give them wisdom in adjusting his treatment. May the medicines he takes work effectively and without harm, and may his body respond in a way that brings swift relief. Remind him, Lord, that You are his ultimate healer, and that even when earthly remedies fall short, Your power is limitless.
In times of physical suffering, it can be easy to feel discouraged or distant from God, but we encourage ### to draw near to Him, for He promises to draw near to us (James 4:8). Let this season be one where his faith grows deeper, where he learns to trust in You more fully, and where he experiences Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also pray for his emotional and spiritual well-being. Physical ailments can take a toll on the mind and spirit, so we ask that You would guard his heart from anxiety, fear, or despair. Fill him with hope, Lord, and let him rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). Surround him with Your love and the support of his family and friends, who can uplift him in prayer and encouragement.
Finally, we declare that this is not the end of his story. We speak life, health, and wholeness over his body in Jesus’ name. May he soon return to a place of strength, able to enjoy food without pain, and may his testimony of Your healing power bring glory to Your name. We stand on Your Word, which says, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20). Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
