Disciple of Prayer
I’m seeking your prayers as I navigate a time of uncertainty and discernment. Lately, I’ve been praying about my next step, and while fasting, I saw consistent signs, especially planes. I felt a deep spiritual connection- which feels different from when I normally see a plane- that makes me wonder if God is guiding me toward a new destination. However, this feeling also brings a sense of overwhelm as I fear misinterpreting these signs. Please pray for clarity, accurate signs, and the discernment to understand God’s will. Also, pray for open doors and divine support as I take these potential next steps. Also would appreciate prayer for body healing and mental health healing, as I have recently been suffering from some skin problems- acne and Eczema on my arms and going through a breakup. Thank you for your prayer!

We join you in prayer as you navigate this season of uncertainty and discernment, and we thank you for sharing your heart with us so openly. We hear your desire to follow God's will and not miss His direction, and we also hear the overwhelm that comes with fearing you might misinterpret what you are seeing. We want to come alongside you and seek the Lord together in Jesus' name for clarity, peace, and healing.

We understand that while you were fasting you began to notice planes consistently and felt a deep spiritual connection that made you wonder if God is pointing you toward a new destination. We commend your fasting and seeking, for God honors a humble and seeking heart. Yet we also want to gently encourage you with biblical truth about how God guides us. The Scriptures teach us that God primarily leads us through His Word, His Holy Spirit, and godly wisdom, not principally through outward signs that can be uncertain. We are reminded in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And in James 1:5, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. The Lord promises in Psalm 32:8, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. We encourage you not to put your confidence in the frequency of seeing planes alone, for even Jesus said in Matthew 12:39 that a seeking after signs can lead us astray. Instead we encourage you to test everything against Scripture, to pray for wisdom, to seek counsel from mature believers, and to look for the peace of God which surpasses understanding to guard your heart. God is not a God of confusion but of peace, and He desires to give you clear direction in His perfect timing. We also note that you asked for open doors and divine support, and we agree with you that God will open doors that no one can shut when it is His will, and He will close doors for your protection when it is not.

We also lift up your physical and emotional needs. We pray for your body as you suffer with acne and eczema on your arms, and we pray for your mental health as you walk through the pain of a breakup. God cares deeply about both your body and your soul. We hold onto Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases, and Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. For your heartache we are reminded of Psalm 34:18, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and 1 Peter 5:7, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We also encourage you regarding relationships from a biblical perspective. We believe God designed romantic love to be expressed within courtship that seeks a godly marriage between a man and a woman who are both believers in Christ, with marriage as a lifelong covenant. Courtship should be entered with the goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer as taught in 2 Corinthians 6:14, and sexual intimacy is reserved for within that marriage alone. While you heal from this breakup, we encourage you to guard your heart, to pursue purity, and to allow God to restore you and prepare you for a future godly marriage if it is His will for you, rather than rushing into another relationship. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why His name is essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive salvation and answered prayer. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray with confidence.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. We ask You to pour out Your wisdom liberally as they seek direction, to make their path straight and to grant clear discernment of Your will. Quiet their fear of misinterpreting signs and replace overwhelm with Your perfect peace. Lead them by Your Word and Your Spirit, confirm Your will through Scripture and godly counsel, and open the doors You desire to open while firmly closing those that are not from You. Provide divine support, provision, and favor for every next step You ordain. We also ask for Your healing touch upon their body, we ask You to bring relief and restoration to their skin, to heal the acne and eczema, and to strengthen their health. Heal their mind and emotions, comfort their broken heart after this breakup, renew their thoughts, and guard their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Draw them close to Jesus, deepen their faith, and help them to trust You with all their heart. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing all else will be added according to Your perfect plan. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for opening your heart to us during such an uncertain time. We can hear how sincerely you want to hear God clearly, and also how heavy it feels to worry that you might get it wrong.

Seeing planes consistently while you were fasting makes sense that you would wonder about a new destination, and it is understandable that the wonder comes with overwhelm. When we are longing for direction, every possible sign can feel very big. We have found it helps to widen the picture a little, paying attention not only to what catches our eye, but to settled peace over time, wise counsel from people who know you, and how doors actually open or close as you take small faithful steps.

One simple next step that may ease the pressure is to talk through what you are sensing with one trusted pastor or mentor who knows your story, and to write down the practical options in front of you to pray over together, rather than carrying all the discernment alone.

We also hear the strain of the skin irritation on your arms and the pain of the recent breakup. Alongside prayer, it is a good idea to check in with a medical provider about the acne and eczema, and with a counselor or trusted support person for your emotional health if the heaviness continues.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. Give calm and clear discernment, steady our friend with Your presence, and bring healing and comfort to body and heart as You lead step by step. Amen.

Your cry for guidance and for healing has been heard, and it is brought before the Lord with earnestness. There are seasons when the soul is full of uncertainty, when the way forward is clouded, and when the heart, being broken and the body being afflicted, longs for a token that God is near and that His hand will lead.

Be assured of this, that as surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so all things are under His regulation and have an appointed place in His plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. It is wise and right that you should desire to know His will, yet take heed that you seek it where it is to be found. There is a revealed will which we must not violate, and it is found in the holy Scriptures, not in the passing of planes across the sky or in any sign that the imagination may magnify when the mind is wearied by fasting and sorrow. The merchant in James said, We will go, we will buy, we will sell, we will get gain, and he forgot to say, If the Lord will. So we are taught not to propose and dispose as though we had not to ask God's consent at all, but to feel in our hearts, If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that. To look for planes as guides may only increase your overwhelm and lead to misinterpreting what Providence has not spoken. Try as you may, you cannot alter God's providential arrangements, so would it not be better that you should be altered so as to suit the Providence and be resigned to the will of God. That doing which comes of a feverish and anxious condition will just be your undoing unless you stop and consider what God would have you do. Wait till you get quite cool, brother, you will see your way far better then. Seek counsel in the Word, in prayer that is grounded upon the Word, and in the wisdom of godly and sober minded believers, and leave the result with God.

For your bodily affliction and for the heaviness of mind that has followed this season of trial and the sorrow of a broken relationship, we have great hope to set before you. All the nations are sick and all individuals in every nation need healing, and the Lord has provided healing leaves for that sickness. Yet know that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. It is God's prerogative to forgive and He delights to exercise it, and He says, I will pardon them whom I reserve. If we wish to obtain this free pardon, it will be granted in answer to prayer through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved. The blood of Christ alone can make the guilty clean, and no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

And for the broken heart, there is a great mercy, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. He will do it. Nobody else can, nobody else may, but He will. While Jehovah lives, the mourner need not despair. Cast your burden on Him, He will bear it, open your heart before Him, He will heal it. The Lord has begun to heal His people and the healing virtue which His grace has infused will work health and cure till we shall be without spot or wrinkle. Until the glory life begins, the abiding power of those healing leaves keeps the soul of the believer in perpetual health.

Our prayer for you therefore is this, that the Holy Spirit, who changes the human will and makes men willing in the day of God's power, would work in you to will and to do of His good pleasure, that you may be kept from anxious sign seeking and be led into the plain path of obedience to His revealed will. We ask the Lord to grant you a calm and sober mind, to cool the fever of anxiety, to give you clarity not by new signs in the heavens but by illumination of the Scriptures and by a settled peace that you are doing the right thing and leaving the outcome with Him. We ask Him to open doors that He would have opened and to shut those which in His wisdom should remain shut, and to give you divine support as you take the next steps in a manner that honors Him, reserving the gift of marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and keeping all that belongs to it within that covenant.

We pray also for your body, that the Lord who heals all diseases would be pleased to bring relief to your skin, to ease the affliction of acne and eczema, and to restore you to health if it be His will. And we pray for your mind, that He who heals the broken heart would bind up your wounds after this breakup, take away overwhelming fear and dread, and grant you rest in His pardoning love through Christ. May you learn His way and then teach it to others, and may you find that His promise may tarry but it never fails.

May the Lord grant you to trust Him fully, to confess Christ and act for the right and the true, and by the aid of His blessed Spirit never to hesitate to do as He bids you.
