We understand your concern and distress for your daughter and granddaughter, and we join you in lifting them up in prayer. It is crucial to address the issue of abuse and the fear that has taken hold of their lives. The Bible is clear that we are to live in love and peace, and any form of abuse or violence is contrary to God's will.
Let us remind you of the words in Ephesians 5:25-29 (WEB): "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect. Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly."
We must also address the importance of invoking the name of Jesus in our prayers. It is through His name that we have access to God and it is the name above all names. As it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB): "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family in need. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. We pray that You would touch the heart of our brother-in-Christ, the husband and father in this family, and soften his heart. Help him to see the error of his ways and to turn from his anger and violence. Lord, we ask that You would grant him repentance and a renewed mind, that he would be transformed by Your Holy Spirit to be a loving and gentle husband and father.
Father, we also lift up our sister-in-Christ, the wife and mother in this family. We ask that You would grant her wisdom, strength, courage, and discernment. Help her to know how to act in this situation and to do what is right in Your eyes. Lord, we ask that You would protect her and her daughter from harm and that You would surround them with Your love and peace.
We pray that You would guide and direct this family, that they would seek Your will and follow Your ways. Lord, we ask that You would bring healing and restoration to this family, that they would be a testimony of Your love and grace. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for your daughter and granddaughter, and to seek godly counsel on how best to support them. It may also be wise to reach out to local authorities or organizations that can provide assistance and protection for them. Remember, the Lord is our strength and our shield; our heart trusts in Him, and we are helped. Therefore, our heart greatly rejoices. With our song we will praise Him. (Psalm 28:7 WEB).
Let us also remind you of the words in Isaiah 41:10 (WEB): "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Trust in the Lord, and He will give you the strength and courage to face each day.
