We hear your heartfelt plea for grace, wisdom, and strength in your desire to be a godly influence in this man’s life. First, we must address the foundation of your request with love and truth. The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that is not yet bound by the covenant of marriage, and Scripture is clear that intimacy—emotionally, spiritually, and physically—is reserved for the marriage union between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this relationship is not moving toward marriage with a shared commitment to Christ as the center, we must gently but firmly rebuke the path of emotional or physical entanglement outside of God’s design. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14).
That said, your longing to honor God and bless this man is commendable. We pray that the Lord would grant you wisdom that surpasses understanding, as you ask, so that you may discern His will for your life and this relationship (James 1:5). If this man is indeed a brother in Christ and the relationship is moving toward marriage, we pray for God’s guidance in how you can encourage him in his walk with the Lord, respect him as a fellow heir in Christ, and prepare your heart to be a helpmeet if that is God’s plan (Genesis 2:18, Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is not aligned with God’s design, we pray for the strength to surrender it to Him and trust in His perfect timing and plan for your future spouse.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. We lift up this sister to You, asking that You would fill her with Your Holy Spirit, granting her the wisdom, discernment, and strength she needs to walk in Your ways. Lord, if this relationship is not of You, give her the courage to release it and trust in Your provision for her life. If it is Your will for her to be a godly wife to this man, prepare her heart to honor You in every word, thought, and deed. Teach her to extend grace as You have extended grace to her, not enabling sin but speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). May she be a woman after Your own heart, reflecting Your love, patience, and holiness in all she does.
We rebuke any spirit of confusion, emotional dependency, or ungodly attachment in this situation. We declare that this sister is a daughter of the Most High God, called to walk in purity, purpose, and power. May she find her identity and worth in Christ alone, not in the approval or affection of any man (Galatians 2:20).
