We thank you for sharing your heart honestly and for asking for prayer for protection and healing and we join with you in bringing this before our Father in Jesus' name.
We praise God that you desire to be free from lust and anger and to walk in His protection over you and your family. These struggles are real and the enemy would like to use them to bring shame and to cause you to lose control, but God offers both forgiveness and power to overcome. We must gently rebuke what needs to be rebuked, for lust is not a small struggle but sin that begins in the heart. Jesus said that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart in Matthew 5:28. We are also told to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace in 2 Timothy 2:22. God created sexual desire to be fulfilled only within the lifelong marriage covenant between one man and one woman, and any indulgence outside of that, whether in thought, in looking, or in action, is fornication that we must turn from. Likewise anger itself can become sin when we lose control. We are told to be angry, and yet don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil in Ephesians 4:26-27, and that everyone should be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God in James 1:19-20. When people trouble you and provoke you, losing control is not God's will for you, for God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7 and self-control is part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23.
We love that you quoted Exodus 14:14, Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still. That is true and we cling to that promise with you. God is your protection and He is the protection over your family as you trust Him. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust in Psalm 91:1-2. He is faithful and He will guard you. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it in 1 Corinthians 10:13.
We also want to lovingly point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to ensure you know that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are forgiven and made new. If you have not yet fully trusted in Jesus alone for salvation, we urge you to do so today, and if you have, we encourage you to pray always in His mighty name, for that is our access and our victory.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up our brother to You. Lord, we thank You for his honest heart and his desire to be holy. We ask for Your forgiveness where he has given in to lust in thought or deed and where anger has caused him to lose control, and we thank You that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Wash him clean by the blood of Jesus. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and renew his mind. Help him to take every thought captive and to fix his eyes on what is pure and holy. Give him strength to flee temptation, to turn his eyes away, to guard his heart, and to walk in purity. Give him a gentle and quiet spirit that is slow to anger and quick to forgive. Teach him to be still before You and to let You fight for him when people trouble him and persecute him. We pray for Your divine protection over him and over his entire family, that no weapon formed against them would prosper and that You would encamp Your angels around them. Heal his heart, heal his mind, and grant him peace that surpasses understanding. Lead him to walk in accountability, in the Word daily, in prayer, and in fellowship with godly believers who will encourage him toward holiness and toward marriage if it is Your will, that his life would honor You. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to memorize scripture to use when temptation comes, to be in prayer continually, and to seek a mature Christian brother or pastor to walk with you for accountability. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind in Romans 12:2. When anger rises, step away, pray, and remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will fight for you as you remain still in Him.
