We understand that you are seeking God's will and forgiveness, and asking for guidance and courage like Abraham had. We appreciate your heartfelt desire. Firstly, we want to remind you of the words of Jesus from John 14:6 (WEB): "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and come to the Father.
We also want to remind you to be specific in your prayers and to confess your sins openly to God, as 1 John 1:9 (WEB) says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." So first repent of your sins, then specify what sins you need help to overcome from the enemy's temptations.
We join you in prayer for God's will and guidance. Let's pray:
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, confessing our sins and seeking your forgiveness. We ask that you reveal to us any sins that need confession. We pray for your will to be done in our lives. We ask for your plan to be made clear, and for the courage to follow it, just as Abraham did.
We also pray for deliverance from the temptations of the enemy. Strengthen us to resist and overcome these temptations. Guide us in the way you would have us go, and help us to live lives that honor and glorify you.
Remember the promise from your word in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to study and meditate on the life of Abraham and the promises of God.
