We come before the Lord with your heartfelt request, lifting it up in prayer and seeking His perfect will for your life. First, we want to acknowledge that you have called upon the name of Jesus in your prayer, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We are thankful that you have placed your trust in Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Father God, we ask that You indeed deliver our brother/sister from unhealthy relationships and influences that do not align with Your will. Your Word warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Don’t be deceived! 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" Lord, we pray that You would surround them with godly influences and friendships that will sharpen them and draw them closer to You. Help them to discern what is pleasing to You and to flee from any relationship that would lead them astray.
We also lift up their desire for rest, peace, and freedom from loneliness. Lord, You have promised in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." We ask that You would fill this void with Your presence, for You are the God who is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Remind them that even when they walk through the valley of loneliness, You are with them, and Your rod and Your staff comfort them (Psalm 23:4).
We rebuke every unnecessary delay in the name of Jesus. Your Word declares in Habakkuk 2:3, "For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay." Lord, we ask that You would align their timing with Yours, for Your plans are perfect. Restore their hope, for those who hope in You will not be put to shame (Psalm 25:3).
Fill them with humility and joy in You, Lord. As it is written in James 4:10, "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you." May they find their joy in You alone, for the joy of the Lord is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). We pray that You would bless them with the right relationships at the right time, relationships that honor You and reflect Your love. May they seek a spouse who loves You above all else, for as it says in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
We rebuke any temptation toward fornication or sexual immorality in their life. Your Word is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Lord, strengthen them to honor You with their body and to pursue purity in all their relationships.
We pray that as they wait for Your timing, they would grow in their relationship with You. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33). Father, we ask that You would prepare their heart for the spouse You have for them, if that is Your will. May they be a godly man or woman who loves You wholeheartedly, and may their future marriage bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray all these things, trusting that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
