We are so glad that you have taken the courageous step to turn from sin and follow the Lord wholeheartedly. It is important to remember that God's forgiveness is always available to those who sincerely seek it. The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9 WEB, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
In your journey, remember that stumbling is not the end. God is more interested in the direction you are heading than where you have been. Proverbs 24:16 WEB says, for a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again.
However, it is crucial to understand that repentance is more than just feeling sorry; it involves a deliberate decision to turn away from sin. Jesus said in Matthew 4:17 WEB, From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who has stumbled but desires to walk uprightly before You. Lord, we confess that we all fall short and need Your continual grace and forgiveness.
Father, we ask that You forgive our brother's/sister's sin and grant them true repentance. Give them the strength to turn away from their sin and the courage to walk in Your ways again. Lord, remind them of Your unfailing love and faithfulness, even in times of failure. Help them to trust in Your promises and to continue on the path of righteousness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Paul in Philippians 3:13-14 WEB, Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Keep pressing forward, and trust in the Lord's grace and mercy. He is with you every step of the way.
