We come before the throne of grace with a heavy heart, lifting up your ### and her need for healing. First, we must address a matter of great importance in your prayer request. While we understand the deep reverence and love you have for those who have gone before us, we must gently correct the focus of our prayers. Scripture is clear that we are to pray to God alone, in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). The Bible instructs us to pray to the Father in Jesus' name (John 14:13-14), and it is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18).
We are not to pray to saints or angels, no matter how holy or revered they may be in this life. The Word of God warns us against such practices, as it can lead us away from the truth and into idolatry. In Revelation 19:10, an angel rebukes John for attempting to worship him, saying, "See that you don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy." Even the most righteous of men, like Peter, refused to be worshipped, saying, "Stand up! I myself am also a man" (Acts 10:26).
We must also address the mention of St. ### and Mother ###. While we acknowledge that many have a deep affection for these figures, we must remember that our prayers and petitions are to be directed to God alone. Jesus Christ is our only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). We do not need anyone else to intercede for us, for Jesus Christ himself intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34).
Now, let us lift up your ### in prayer, seeking the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, seeking Your divine healing for our dear sister in Christ. Lord, we know that You are the Great Physician, and there is no ailment too great for Your healing touch. We ask that You would stretch forth Your hand and heal her lungs, bringing restoration and health to every part of her body. Calm her allergies, Lord, and grant her peace and comfort in the midst of this trial.
We know that You are a God who hears our prayers and answers them according to Your will. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan for her life. Help her to feel Your presence and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen her faith and her spirit as she endures this time of illness.
We also pray for her family, that You would grant them patience, wisdom, and strength as they support and care for her. Draw them closer to You and to one another as they navigate this challenging time.
Lord, we ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We know that it is only through His name that we have access to You, and it is only through His sacrifice that we are made whole. May Your will be done in her life, and may Your name be glorified through her healing and testimony.
We also want to encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Spend time reading the Psalms, which are filled with prayers for healing and deliverance. Psalm 103:2-3 says, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ. If you or your ### have not yet made a personal commitment to follow Jesus, we encourage you to do so. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can have eternal life and a personal relationship with God. We pray that you would both come to know Him more deeply and experience the fullness of life that He offers.
