Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your desire to see your family guarded and kept in the peace of God. I join with you in prayer for your home, and I thank God that He hears when His people call on Him through Jesus Christ.
Your prayer mentions fear, anxiety, confusion and the need for protection. Scripture teaches that the cure for fear is remembering the Lord and His presence with us. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Fear grows when we forget who God is and what He has promised, and it often pushes us to make wrong decisions. Faith and fear cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where faith is strong and confidence in God is alive, fear must leave. Where fear is allowed to take hold, faith is weakened. So we pray not from panic, but from trust that God is with you in your home and with each member of your family.
The Bible also speaks of another kind of fear, the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. This is not a phobia or a shaking dread, but a reverent awe at who God is, His greatness and His power and His holiness. To fear the Lord is to love what He loves and to hate what He hates, to turn away from evil, from pride and from ways that harm. That reverence is the starting place and the sum of true wisdom for a family. God has given His ways for the family because living by what He says builds up a home and strengthens relationships, while going against His ways tears them down. As you seek Him, He will give you wisdom and understanding to walk in what is good for your household.
We do what is wise and prudent in caring for our families, but not because we are driven by fear of the enemy. God is able to keep you whether on the wall or in the home. He has authority in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm, and even evil spirits are subject to Him. He is our helper, so we need not fear what people or spiritual opposition may try to do.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift this family to You. Thank You that You are present with them and that You are their protector. I ask that You guard their home, their minds and their bodies, and that You replace fear, anxiety and confusion with faith, peace and a clear mind fixed on You. Teach them to reverence You and to hate evil, and give them wisdom for their health, their relationships and their finances, that Your good order would be established among them. Bring healing according to Your will and Your mercy, and help them to trust You in every need. Command Your angels to watch over them as You have promised, and keep them from harm. Help them to walk in wise choices, not moved by fear, but confident that You are with them. May Your love and Your presence fill their home. In Jesus name, Amen.
