Prayer for family

We join you in this prayer and agree with you before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

We ask God to place His protection around your home, your minds and your bodies, and to guard you from both physical and spiritual harm. Scripture reminds us that God is everywhere present, sees all things and hears all things, and that He commands His angels to guard His people. We ask Him to station His angels around you and to shatter every assignment of the enemy, every danger and every work of darkness that would come against you.

We also pray that the Lord will lift from you all fear, anxiety, confusion and sickness. His Word teaches us to serve the Lord with reverent fear and yet to rejoice with confidence, because it is God who works in us both to will and to do what pleases Him. When we know He is near, we do not have to live in constant dread or suspicion, but can rest in His care and walk in obedience with a steady heart. We ask Him to replace fear with faith, anxiety with peace, and confusion with clarity, and to bring His divine order over your health, your relationships and your finances.

May the Lord keep you in His perfect peace as you keep your minds on Him, strengthen you to do what is good, and cause your home to be filled with His presence, His protection and His provision. We entrust you to His faithful hands and pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Your request for covering over your home, your minds and bodies is heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

The Scriptures show that the cure for fear is remembering the Lord. David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for You are with me. Fear grows when we forget who God is and what He has promised. Faith and fear cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where faith is strong and confidence in God is settled, fear has to leave. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside. One of the enemy's most common works is to strike fear into the heart so that we will react out of fear, and reactions made from fear are often wrong. Like Nehemiah, who discerned that an attempt was being made to make him afraid and to move him to hide, we can learn to recognize fear as a tactic and choose instead to remember God. We do what is wise and prudent, but not because we are driven by fear. If God is our protector, He can keep us wherever we are, and we can rest in His presence rather than living in dread of attack.

You asked for order over your health, relationships and finances and for fear, anxiety, confusion and sickness to be removed. The Bible teaches that the beginning of wisdom and knowledge is the fear of the Lord. This is not a cringing, phobic terror, but a reverent awe at who God is, His greatness and power, a desire to love what He loves and to hate what He hates. To fear the Lord is to hate evil, pride, arrogance and perverse speech, and to depart from evil. That holy reverence is both the starting place and the sum of true understanding. When a family walks in that reverence, doing what God says to do and turning from what He says not to do, relationships are built up and strengthened. What God forbids is what tears families apart. What He commands is what makes for wholeness. As you choose to honor Him, He promises to be your confidence and to keep your foot from being taken, so you do not need to be afraid of sudden fear or of the desolation that comes upon the wicked.

God indeed has power in every realm to heal and to deliver and to command protection. Jesus showed authority over sickness, over the material world and over evil spirits, and they obeyed Him. Even the angels fear and tremble before Him, and He gives His angels charge to guard His people. Healing belongs to Him as well. Sometimes He heals instantly with a word or a touch, sometimes gradually, and sometimes through the natural processes He Himself created in the body. Every true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or over time, and He also heals the wounds of the mind and heart. You can trust Him with your bodies, your minds and your home.

We pray with you now. Father in heaven, we come in the name of Jesus and ask for Your protection over this family and their home. Surround them with Your presence and let Your peace guard their minds and bodies. We ask that You remove fear, anxiety and confusion and replace it with faith, a sound mind and remembrance of Your goodness and power. Teach them to walk in the reverent fear of You, to love what You love and to turn from evil, and establish Your order over their health, their relationships and their finances. Grant them wisdom and strength, and let Your will be done in their lives. Bring healing as You see best, comfort their hearts and keep them in Your care. Guard them from physical and spiritual harm and let them know that You are with them. We trust You to keep them and to lead them in Your way. Amen.
