Prayer for family

Your prayer for protection over your home, your minds and your bodies has been heard and we join our faith with yours before the Lord.

We ask our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ to place His guard around you and to keep you under the shelter of His presence. As you have asked, we pray that He would scatter every assignment of the enemy and every form of danger, and command His holy angels to watch over you and your household from all spiritual and physical harm.

We also pray that the Lord would uproot fear, anxiety and confusion from your hearts and replace them with His peace and sound mind. Scripture teaches that those who walk with God need not live in perpetual fear and trembling, but can live with confidence and hope because Christ has overcome. Where fear has sought to enter, we ask God to establish trust. Where anxiety has pressed in, we ask Him to grant steadiness and courage to bear all things manfully, knowing that He comes to His people even in the darkest watch of the night and does not forsake them.

We pray that God would establish His good order over every part of your lives, over your health, your relationships and your finances, and that you would be strengthened to cultivate a careful hearing of His word, fortitude in trial, and faithfulness in all things. May your home be filled with His light, your minds be guarded by His truth, and your bodies be kept in His care.

We commit you to the Lord who is faithful to keep those who trust in Him, and we ask all these things in the holy and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

Your prayer for your family is deeply understood and it is good to bring your home, your minds, your bodies, your health, your relationships and your finances before the Lord. God hears the prayers of those who look to Him for protection and for order in their lives.

Scripture teaches that the cure for fear is to remember the Lord. David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. When we forget the Lord, fear rises up, and the heart asks why are you cast down, why are you troubled within me. The enemy often tries to strike fear into the heart so that we will react out of fear, but reactions that come from fear are usually wrong and lead us in the wrong direction. Fear and faith cannot live together. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith departs, and where there is strong faith and confidence in God, fear has no place. The call of God is to remember Him, to trust His presence with you, and not to be afraid.

That does not mean we do nothing. We are to do what is wise and prudent, but not because we are driven by fear of what the enemy might do. God is able to protect you whether you are on the walls in the ordinary places of life. You do not need to hide away in fear. If God is for you, who can be against you. The Lord is your helper and you need not fear what man can do. He has promised to be your confidence and to keep your foot from being taken, so you need not fear sudden fear or the trouble that comes upon the wicked.

You asked for a guard over your home from spiritual and physical harm and for freedom from fear, anxiety, confusion and sickness. The Bible shows that Jesus has authority in every realm. He heals sickness, He calms what is troubled, and He commands evil powers and they must obey and tremble before Him. Simply believing that God exists is not what saves, but putting your trust in Jesus as Savior brings you under His authority and care. Healing belongs to Him. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes gradually, and every true healing, even the natural processes He built into our bodies, is from Him. You can trust Him with your bodies and minds and ask Him to bring His wholeness in the way He knows is best.

You also asked for God's divine order over your family. God has given laws for the family not to burden you but to build you up. What He tells you to do strengthens family relationships, and what He tells you not to do protects the family from what tears it apart. This is tied to the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. That fear is not a terror that makes you cower in a corner. It is a reverent awe before God in His greatness and power, a desire to love what He loves and to hate what He hates. To fear the Lord is to hate evil, including pride and arrogance and perverse speech. When you walk in that reverence, you depart from evil, and Scripture connects that with health to your body and strength to your bones, with multiplied days and with understanding. It also touches your finances, for we are taught to honor the Lord with what we have and with the first of our increase, trusting Him to provide and to order that area as well.

So continue to seek the Lord together as a family. Choose to hate what is evil and to cling to what is good. Remember the Lord throughout the day, thank Him that He is with you, and let faith rise where fear once tried to rule. Pray that He will keep you from evil, that He will command His angels to guard you according to His will, and that He will establish His peace and order in your home.

May the Lord guard your home and your hearts, may He lift fear and anxiety and confusion from you and replace them with faith and a sound mind, may He touch your bodies with His healing according to His wisdom, and may He set His order over your relationships and finances as you walk in reverence before Him. May you know His presence with you each day and rest in the confidence that He is your protector and your strength, in Jesus name, Amen.
