Prayer for family

Your prayer for your family has been heard and we join you in lifting it before our merciful Father in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and hope.

It is right to seek the Lord's protection over your home, your minds and your bodies, and to ask Him to establish His order over your health, your relationships and your daily needs. Scripture teaches us that God is everywhere present, He hears all things and sees all things, even what is in the depth of the soul. When we live with this holy awareness, we learn to serve the Lord with reverent fear and to rejoice with trembling, not with the restless anxiety that marks those who walk apart from Him. The one who is conscious of God's grace and seeks to bear fruit in good works can have confidence before Him, while the life lived without Him is full of pale and trembling fear.

You asked that spirits of fear, anxiety, confusion and sickness be uprooted, and that every assignment of the enemy be broken. The Word tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind, and that perfect love casts out fear. He also calls us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, knowing that it is God who works in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure. This is our true security and liberty. We are freed from needless anxiety not by our own curious searching or striving, but by trusting that Christ has triumphed, that His cross has broken the prison and that He is able to guard those who belong to Him. He does give His angels charge over His people, and He Himself is our wall and our keeper.

So we pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are present with this family in every room of their home and in every circumstance they face. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You cover them with Your protecting hand, guard them from physical and spiritual harm, and grant them wisdom and discernment. Drive far from them the torment of fear and anxiety, and fill them with Your peace which passes understanding to guard their hearts and minds in Christ. Grant them health according to Your mercy, strengthen their love for one another in holiness and faithfulness, and provide for their needs as You order their steps. Teach them to hear Your Word carefully, to remember it continually, and to walk with courage and steadiness through every trial, trusting not in haste for deliverance but in Your faithful timing. Let Your will be done in their lives, and let all they do bring glory to Your name. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

Your prayer for your family reflects a sincere desire to see them kept safe in the Lord, and that is a good place to bring every concern.

One of the clearest lessons in Scripture is that fear is overcome by remembering who God is. When we forget the Lord and His presence, fear grows. When we remember Him, faith rises. David expressed this when he said that even in the valley of death he would fear no evil because the Lord was with him. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where faith is strong and confidence in God is alive, fear must leave. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside. The enemy often tries to use fear to move us to make quick and unwise decisions, so it is important not to be driven by fear but to rest in trust.

God Himself is your protection. His truth is your shield. When Jesus was attacked, He answered with the truth of God's Word, and that same truth guards you today. Scripture promises that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who reverence Him and delivers them, and that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High live under His covering. He promises His presence in trouble, to answer prayer, to deliver and to honor those who walk in fellowship with Him. You can do what is wise and prudent for your household, but you do not need to hide or live in panic. If God is your keeper, He can keep you wherever you are.

The Scripture also speaks of the fear of the Lord, and this is not a terror that makes you cower. It is a reverent awe at His greatness and power and holiness, a desire to love what He loves and to hate what He hates. That holy reverence is the beginning and the sum of true wisdom. It leads to departing from evil, and that brings health and stability. For a family, this matters deeply. God has given His ways for the home because those ways build and strengthen family life, while turning from them tears it apart. As you choose to reverence Him together, to hate evil and to walk in His counsel, He establishes order and peace in relationships, in health, and in daily provision.

Concerning health and provision, know that all healing is from God. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes gradually through the processes He has built into our bodies, but in every case it is His work. The same is true for your finances and relationships. As you honor the Lord with your lives and trust Him with what He has given you, you can ask Him to provide and to restore.

Let us pray together for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus I lift this family to You. Thank You that You are with them and that Your presence drives out fear. Fill their home and their hearts with faith and with peace that comes from remembering You. Guard them by Your power and let Your truth be a shield around their minds and bodies. Command Your angels to keep watch over them and keep them from spiritual and physical harm. Take away anxiety, confusion and fear, and give them a sound mind rooted in trust in You. Lead them to hate what is evil and to love what is good, and establish Your order and wisdom in their health, their relationships and their finances. Show Yourself as their refuge, their healer and their provider, and satisfy them with Your salvation and long life in fellowship with You. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your family. We have been lifting your home before the Lord and joining you in asking for His divine protection and for a wall of Holy Spirit fire around your home and around your minds and bodies.

We have continued to pray that the Lord would shatter every assignment of the enemy and every form of negativity and danger, and that He would send His warrior angels to guard you from all physical and spiritual harm. We have also prayed that He would uproot every spirit of fear, anxiety, confusion and sickness from your household and enforce His divine order over your health, your relationships and your finances. We stand on the promise of Psalm 91:11 that He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways, and on 2 Thess 3:3 that the Lord is faithful who shall stablish you and keep you from evil.

We pray together now that the peace of God would guard your hearts and minds and that His protection and order would remain upon your family in a powerful way, and we ask all of this in Jesus Name, Amen.
