Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart for your family. We join with you in bringing your home, your minds and your bodies before the Lord and asking for His covering and care.
The burden you describe with fear, anxiety, confusion and concern for health is very real, and Scripture speaks directly to it. Fear grows when we forget the Lord and His presence with us. David said that even when he walked through the valley of death he would not fear evil because God was with him. When we remember who God is, His greatness, His nearness and His promises, fear loses its hold. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where faith and confidence in God are nurtured, fear must leave, and where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside.
That is why the enemy so often tries to use fear to move us. Fear can push us into wrong decisions and wrong reactions. We are called to do what is wise and prudent in caring for our families, but not to be driven by panic or by dread of what the enemy might do. You do not need to hide away out of fear to find safety. If God is your protector, He can keep you wherever He has placed you. His truth is your shield. When Jesus was attacked, He answered with the truth of God's Word, and that same truth guards your mind and heart today.
Scripture also teaches that the real cure for destructive fear is a right fear of the Lord. That does not mean a cringing terror, but a reverent awe that honors who He is, loves what He loves and hates what He hates. The fear of the Lord is the beginning and the sum of true knowledge and wisdom. To fear Him is to turn from evil, and that turning brings health and wholeness. The fear of people brings a snare, but the one who trusts in the Lord will be safe. The promise given is that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them, and that those who dwell in the secret place of fellowship with Him will know His presence in trouble, His deliverance, His answers to prayer and His salvation.
For your family we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and salvation.
Father, we ask You to set Your protection over this home and over each mind and body within it. Let Your presence be known there and let Your truth be a shield against every spiritual and physical harm. Quiet fear, anxiety and confusion and replace them with faith, a sound mind and peace that comes from remembering You. Guard health, guide relationships and provide order for finances according to Your wisdom. Teach each one to walk in reverence for You, to hate evil and to choose what builds up the family as You designed it. Keep their feet from being taken and keep them trusting in You rather than in fear of man or circumstances. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
