Beloved of All
Your prayer for your family reflects a deep love and a desire for God to be the guard over every part of your home. It is right to bring your minds, bodies, relationships, health and finances before the Lord and ask for His protection and order.
Scripture shows that the cure for fear is remembering the Lord. David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. When we forget that God is present with us, our hearts become troubled and cast down. The enemy often tries to use fear because fear works against faith. The two cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside, and where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear loses its hold. Fear can also push us to make wrong decisions and to react in ways we would not otherwise. That is why wisdom calls us to do what is prudent and right, but not out of fear of what the enemy might do. If God is our helper we do not need to fear what people or spiritual opposition can do, for He is able to keep us whether we are on the walls or in any other place.
The Bible also says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. This is not a cringing terror that makes us hide, but a reverent awe at who God is, His greatness and power. To fear the Lord in this way is to love what He loves and to hate what He hates, to turn away from pride, arrogance and every evil way. That kind of reverence brings wisdom for daily living. When we walk in His ways, it builds and strengthens the family, because the instructions God has given for the home are meant to make family relationships whole. To fear the Lord and depart from evil also brings health to the body, and to honor the Lord with what He has provided brings order to our finances. God promises that those who reverence His name will see the Son of righteousness arise with healing. He heals in many ways, sometimes instantly, sometimes gradually through the processes He has placed in our bodies, and sometimes by bringing healing to the mind and heart from wounds and anxiety. All true healing comes from Him.
So I join you in prayer that God will keep you in His peace and establish His order over your home. May He lift from you every spirit of fear, anxiety and confusion and replace it with faith and a sound mind as you keep your thoughts on Him. May He guard you from harm, for He gives His angels charge to watch over His people and He Himself is a consuming fire and a refuge for those who trust Him. May He bring health to your bodies, unity to your relationships and wisdom for your finances as you walk in reverent obedience to Him. May you rest not in fear of danger but in confidence that the Lord is with you, and may that faith strengthen your whole household.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to cover this family with Your presence, to keep them in Your perfect peace, to teach them to hate evil and to love Your ways, and to provide for every need according to Your wisdom and mercy. Let Your will be done in their home as it is in heaven. Amen.
