Your request for protection over your home and family is heard, and it is good to bring these cares to the Lord. The desire for God to guard your minds, bodies, relationships, health and finances is right and biblical, and we join you in praying for His covering over you.
Scripture teaches that remembering the Lord is the cure for fear. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for You are with me. Fear grows when we forget the presence of God, and faith grows when we remember Him. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where one is allowed to take over, the other must leave. That is why the enemy so often tries to use fear, anxiety and confusion to move us to react quickly and unwisely. Many wrong decisions are made simply because fear is driving them. The wise response is to do what is prudent and responsible, but not to be motivated by fear itself. If God is our protector, He can keep us wherever we are, and we do not need to live hiding or constantly braced for harm.
God has given us real protection. To live in close fellowship with Him is to dwell in the secret place of the Most High. His truth is our shield and covering against the attacks of the enemy. When Jesus was tempted, He answered with the truth of God's Word, and that same Word is our defense today. The psalm also says the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them, and that those who trust in the Lord will be saved from the snare that comes from fearing people or circumstances. The Lord Himself says fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. He promises His presence in trouble, to answer prayer, to deliver and to honor those who walk with Him.
Part of that walk is what the Bible calls the fear of the Lord. This is not a cowering dread, but a reverent awe at who God is, His greatness and holiness, that leads us to love what He loves and hate what He hates. That reverence is the beginning and the sum of wisdom. It teaches us to turn from evil, from pride and perverse speech and every evil way, and to follow His ways. For the family, this matters deeply. The instructions God has given for the home are not burdens. When they are followed they build up and strengthen family relationships, and when they are ignored they tear the family apart. As you seek divine order over your home, continue to honor the Lord with your lives and to depart from evil. That path brings health and wholeness in His time.
We also pray for your health and peace of mind. God does heal, and we believe strongly in His healing power. Sometimes that healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual through the very processes He has built into our bodies, and sometimes it is a healing of the mind and emotions from wounds and anxiety. All true healing is from Him, and a delay or a gradual process is not a sign of weak faith. Continue to trust Him and to use the means He provides with wisdom.
Let us pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your protection over this family and their home. Cover them as they dwell close to You, and let Your truth be a shield around their minds and bodies. Send Your help and guard them from both physical and spiritual harm. Uproot fear, anxiety and confusion and replace it with faith, soundness of mind and peace that comes from remembering You are with them. Bring Your order and grace to their health, their relationships and their finances, and teach them to walk in reverent awe of You, hating evil and choosing Your ways so that their home is strengthened. Give them wisdom to do what is prudent without being driven by fear, and let them taste and see that You are good. We trust You to answer, to be present in trouble, and to show Your salvation. In Jesus name, Amen.
