A Hard Life
God sees the struggles of every worker and calls us to stand with them in justice and compassion.
Employers and Employees
Kindness between employers and employees builds mutual respect and demands fair treatment from both sides.
Prepare to Meet Thy God
God calls every soul to face Him, so turn to Christ now to be ready for that meeting.
We have heard your heart and the deep pain and stress you have been carrying from this hostile work environment, and we are joining with you in prayer for this meeting with corporate and human resources. We understand the desire for justice and for relief from a place you have dreaded going to each day, and we want to lift this burden to the Lord with you.

We want to gently and lovingly correct the desire expressed for these coworkers to be punished and fired and never work again. While God hates injustice and He sees every wrong done to you, His word calls us to a different posture toward those who have mistreated us. We are told not to repay evil for evil and not to seek vengeance for ourselves, for vengeance belongs to the Lord. Romans 12:19 says do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And Romans 12:21 says do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Matthew 5:44 says love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Ephesians 4:31-32 says let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Hebrews 12:15 warns us to watch lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. Wanting others to be completely terminated and permanently punished can allow bitterness to take root in our own hearts and keep us in bondage, even if we were the ones wronged. God does call for accountability and justice, Proverbs 21:15 says when justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous, but He also calls us to desire mercy and restoration where possible and to leave the final judgment in His hands.

We also noticed that your request speaks of God and the Holy Spirit, but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved and can boldly approach God's throne of grace. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus not only for this meeting but for your whole life.

We do pray for justice to be done in a righteous way, and for your workplace to become healthy and peaceful. We pray that you will speak truth in love without exaggeration, for Ephesians 4:25 says speaking truth with his neighbor, and Proverbs 12:22 says lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh. We pray that you will be quick to listen and slow to speak and slow to anger, as James 1:19 teaches, and that your speech will be gracious and seasoned with salt, Colossians 4:6, so that those in authority can hear clearly what has happened. We pray that God will give wisdom to you and to the leaders you meet with, for James 1:5 says if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We pray that God will soften hearts where softening is needed, but also that He will give those leaders discernment to act fairly and not merely from pity or pressure, but from truth and integrity.

We join together now and pray for you. Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we lift up this dear one to you. You see the hurt, the stress, the hostility endured at work, and you know every detail of this meeting. We ask that you would fill this one with your peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7, and guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Guide tongue and thoughts, give clarity and calm, help to speak truthfully and respectfully and to refrain from words spoken in anger or bitterness. We ask that you would move upon the hearts of the corporate and human resources leaders, grant them wisdom, fairness, compassion, and courage to do what is right and just in your sight. We ask not for vengeance, but for true justice and mercy to be shown, for healing of this work environment, and for a path forward that honors you. We also pray for the coworkers who have caused harm, that you would convict where conviction is needed, bring repentance, and draw them to yourself, for you desire all to come to repentance. Remove bitterness from our friend's heart and help to forgive as you have forgiven us, and restore hope and joy for daily work. We commit this meeting and its outcome into your hands, trusting Proverbs 16:7 that when a man's ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him, and Psalm 37:5 to commit our way to you and trust in you. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to entrust the outcome to the Lord, whether it results in discipline, training, reconciliation, or other just action, and to continue to do your work heartily as for the Lord and not for men, Colossians 3:23. We pray that God will make this workplace a place of peace and dignity, and that He will heal your heart and strengthen you each day, and that whatever happens, you will walk in forgiveness and freedom in Christ.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, dreading work each day and carrying the stress of how you have been treated. It makes sense you want to be heard clearly in this meeting and to see real accountability and change.

We are praying for you as you go in tomorrow. One thing that often helps in a meeting like this is to bring a short, written note with two or three specific examples, with dates if you have them, what was said or done, and how it affected your ability to do your work. Keeping it factual and calm can help HR and leadership understand the pattern and what you are hoping will change going forward. It can also help you stay steady if nerves rise. If you can, plan a little time afterward to step away, breathe, and talk with someone you trust.

We know you want a decisive outcome, and we are asking God for what is right and fair to be seen clearly, for wisdom for those listening, and for peace and steadiness for you whatever they decide.

Father in Jesus name, You see what has happened and how worn down our friend feels. Give clarity and calm in that room, guide words and listening on both sides, and lead those making decisions to act with wisdom and fairness. Guard our friend's heart and health through this, and make a way for a healthier, more respectful workplace. Amen.

The weight you carry into a hostile and stressful place of labor each day is a heavy trial, and it is right to bring it before the Lord who sees all that is done and who knows the sorrow of your heart. To dread the work to which your hands are called is a bitter thing, and God has made such bitterness to be felt that it might lead us to seek Him more deeply.

There is a word which the Lord speaks to weary sinners that must first be heard in our own souls, that there is forgiveness with Him. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is surprising and complete. When we have come to know how much we have been forgiven, though our sins were great and many, we find that the debt is not merely lessened but blotted out, nailed to the cross, remembered no more. We have in Christ not a partial pardon but a full and eternal forgiveness, and for this we have every reason to bow in wonder.

Because we have been so freely forgiven, we are called to study that pattern and to copy it. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. His life was a life of forgiveness, and His dying prayer was Father forgive them for they know not what they do. One effect of truly feeling the bitterness of our own sin against Christ is that it takes away all bitterness against our fellow men. After we have tasted how loving and tender Christ has been to us when we sought His mercy, we say within ourselves, how much I offended God, and how graciously He has dealt with me, therefore I must be gentle and tender and forgiving toward others.

For this reason we cannot join you in asking God to punish your coworkers or to ensure they are fired and never employed again. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and our calling is to overcome evil with good, not to seek the destruction of those who have wronged us. This does not mean that wrongdoing should be hidden or that truth should not be spoken. It is right to speak truthfully and calmly about what has happened and to desire a workplace that is just and peaceful. Those in authority may need to address wrong with wisdom and appropriate correction. But our hearts before God should desire not their ruin but their repentance and good, that they might be brought to see what is right and be changed by His grace.

We will pray for you as you meet with those in authority. We will pray that the Lord will give you a calm mind and words seasoned with truth and grace, that you will be kept from speaking hastily and be helped to speak honestly and with love. We will pray that the hearts of those who hear you will be softened to listen with fairness, compassion and understanding, and that they will be given wisdom to act justly and mercifully for the good of all. We will pray most of all that your own heart will be guarded from bitterness and filled with the Spirit of Christ, that you may know His peace in the midst of this trial and be enabled to forgive even as you have been forgiven. We will pray that the Lord will make your workplace a place of greater peace and health, and that where there has been hostility, there may be healing and renewal.

May you look again to the cross where forgiveness flows so freely, and may that forgiveness which you have received become the measure of the forgiveness you extend. Cast your burden upon the Lord, trust Him to do what is right, and seek to walk in love and patience, that Christ may be seen in you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your pain in this difficult workplace has been heard, and the dread and stress you describe each day is a heavy burden. It is right to want a workplace that is not hostile or broken, and to want truth to be heard when you speak with those in authority. I will pray for you as you go into this meeting.

I also want to gently guide your heart as you pray, because the desire to see others completely terminated and never able to work again can become a fire that harms you even more than those who have hurt you. As it has been taught, when we condemn others harshly we lay down the measure by which we ourselves will be judged, and we give ourselves over to a stricter account. We are called not to upbraid or trample on those who have wronged us, not to revile or assail with pride, but to admonish and correct with tenderness. That does not mean what happened to you does not matter, or that wrongs should be ignored. It means that even while seeking what is just, we must guard our own souls from revenge.

Scripture reminds us that mercy is like oil that gives light and quenches fire. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy, and judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. We have all received great mercy from God, who created us in goodness and forgives us when we repent and ask Him as Father to forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors. If we ask God to show us mercy, compassion and grace in that meeting room, we are also called to show something of that same mercy toward others, even those who have treated us badly. To remember every evil and demand the worst punishment does not so much injure the other person as it injures ourselves, and it closes our own heart to the mercy we need.

So let me pray with you in a way that seeks both truth and mercy.

I will pray that God softens the hearts of all who will be in that room, including your own, and fills the conversation with clarity, honesty and calm. I will pray that the Holy Spirit will guide your mouth and mind, so that you speak the truth plainly without saying what would be harmful or unwise, and that you are heard with fairness and care. I will pray that those in authority will act with wisdom and justice, that they will take your concerns seriously, investigate rightly, and take appropriate steps to correct what is wrong and to make the workplace safer and more peaceful for everyone. I will pray that if correction is needed for those coworkers, it leads them toward recognizing their actions and changing, rather than simply toward destruction. And I will pray that God helps you and blesses you, not only with a good outcome to this meeting, but with protection from bitterness, with peace for your soul, and with light for the days ahead at work.

If you have not already, bring a clear and truthful account of what has happened, speak without reviling, and seek counsel from wise and trusted people around you. Continue to ask God to help you forgive as you have been forgiven, which does not mean pretending no harm was done, but releasing the right to vengeance into His hands and asking Him to free you from carrying that weight.

May the Lord grant you wisdom, steady words, and a heart that loves mercy as you seek justice, and may He bring healing to that workplace and to your own spirit.
