A Hard Life
God sees the struggles of every worker and calls us to stand with them in justice and compassion.
Employers and Employees
Kindness between employers and employees builds mutual respect and demands fair treatment from both sides.
Prepare to Meet Thy God
God calls every soul to face Him, so turn to Christ now to be ready for that meeting.
We have heard your heart and the deep distress you have carried into this work environment, and we join with you in prayer for your meeting tomorrow with the higher corporate and human resources people. We understand how heavy it is to dread going to work each day when the atmosphere feels hostile, stressful, bleak and broken, and we pray with you for justice, for truth to be heard, and for real change.

We want to gently speak to the desire in your request for these coworkers to be fired, completely terminated and never eligible for rehire, and for them to be punished. It is right to desire accountability and a safe, respectful workplace, and God is a God of justice who sees all that has been done to you. Yet Scripture calls us to examine our own hearts even as we seek justice, and to leave vengeance in the hands of God and the proper authorities He has placed over us. We are told, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. And again, Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. Romans 12:17. We are also commanded, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44, and Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32. This does not mean what happened to you does not matter or that accountability should not happen, but it means we ask God to purify our motives so we seek righteousness and restoration, not personal revenge, and we trust Him with the outcome even if it is not exactly the firing we hope for. We are told, Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21.

We encourage you as you go into this meeting to speak truth with grace and self control, prepared with facts and examples rather than only strong emotion. We pray you will be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger as James 1:19 teaches, and that a gentle answer will guide your words, for A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1. Share honestly what you have experienced, what you have witnessed, and how it has affected your ability to work heartily as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23, and humbly ask for a fair and thorough process. Pray not only for their hearts to be softened toward you, but for your own heart to remain free from bitterness, and even to pray for those coworkers that God would convict them, bring them to repentance, and change them. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Psalm 37:5-6.

We also noticed your prayer mentions God and the Holy Spirit, but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. It is by His name we pray, and by His blood we are forgiven and can forgive others.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, asking for Your mercy and grace over this dear one. Lord, You see every harsh word, every unjust action, every tear and every sleepless night caused by this hostile work environment. We ask You to go before this meeting tomorrow. Fill the room with Your presence. Soften the hearts of the corporate and human resources leaders, give them eyes to see truth, ears to hear with compassion and discernment, and wisdom to act justly and fairly. Guide our dear coworker in this trial, anoint their mouth, mind, body, spirit and soul, give them the right words to say and restrain them from words spoken in anger or fear, let Your Holy Spirit speak through them with clarity, calmness, truth and grace. We ask for accountability where it is needed, for protection from further mistreatment, and for this workplace to be changed from a place of dread to a place of peace and dignity. Lord, we also ask You to work in the hearts of those coworkers who have caused harm, convict them of wrongdoing, lead them to repentance, and do not let evil continue unchecked. And Father, guard the heart of the one we pray for, keep bitterness and revenge far away, fill them with Your peace, courage and forgiveness, help them to overcome evil with good and to trust Your perfect justice and timing. We ask that whatever the outcome, You would be glorified, that You would provide and sustain, and that You would make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how exhausting this season has been, walking into a place that feels hostile and hopeless each day. Wanting to be heard and to see real change is understandable, and we are praying for you as you head into that meeting tomorrow.

We are asking God to give you clarity and calm, and to give those you meet with open ears and fair judgment. It helps to go in with a clear, steady account. If it helps tonight, jot down two or three specific examples with dates and what happened, how it affected your work, and what a healthier workplace would look like for you. Bring any notes or documentation you have, speak about behaviors rather than motives, and ask what next steps and follow up you can expect. Having it written down can keep you grounded if nerves rise.

Whatever they decide, we pray you will know you did what you could with integrity and that God sees what you have carried. He can bring peace and direction even while workplace issues are still being sorted out.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift up our friend for tomorrow. Give peace tonight, wisdom for every word, and self control to say what is true and helpful. Move in the hearts of the leaders to listen with care and to act justly. Guard our friend's heart from bitterness and lead toward healing and a better path forward. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your heavy burden and the sorrow of this hostile workplace have been heard, and my heart is moved with compassion for the distress you carry each day as you dread going to that place.

It is right to desire that what is wrong should be made right, and that those in authority should act with wisdom and justice. Yet the Word of God gently turns our prayers in another direction than the desire for punishment and revenge. We are taught to pray not that our fellow sinners might be crushed, but that grace and truth might meet together.

There is forgiveness with God, and it is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, a complete forgiveness, an eternal forgiveness, purchased not by our merit but by the blood of Christ who bore our punishment that God might justly forgive the chief of sinners. When we have felt the bitterness of our own sin against Christ, that bitterness takes away all bitterness against our fellow men. The soul that has been forgiven much says within itself, how much I offended God, and how freely He has forgiven me, and therefore I must be sweet, gentle, kind, tender and forgiving toward others.

Our pattern is given plainly, even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. He lived forgiving, and died praying, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. He keeps no back reckonings and retains no reserves of anger. If we have received such full forgiveness, we are called to a joint work of mutual forgiveness, to open our hands as He has opened His to us.

So for your meeting tomorrow I will pray, not that wrath may fall without mercy upon those who have wronged you, but that the Lord will give you a calm and clear mind, a guarded mouth, and words seasoned with truth and grace. I will pray that those who hear you will have wisdom to discern what is true, to act justly and yet with mercy, to seek not merely punishment but the healing of a broken environment. I will pray that the Holy Spirit will soften every heart in that room, including your own, and fill you with that peace which comes from knowing that vengeance belongs to the Lord and that He will do what is right.

I will also pray that God will make your workplace less bleak and more wholesome, that He will give you strength to bear what cannot be changed in a moment, and that He will work repentance and amendment where there has been unkindness. And above all I will pray that you may know more deeply the completeness of the forgiveness you have in Christ, and that out of that forgiveness you may be able to release these coworkers to God, desiring their good and their restoration rather than their destruction.

May the Lord guide you, keep you from speaking in haste or in bitterness, and let your speech be truthful, measured, and clothed in love. May He do what is best according to His perfect wisdom and mercy, and give you rest in the knowledge that there is forgiveness with Him, now and forever, for all who come through Jesus Christ His Son.

Your request has been heard, and I understand how heavy and painful it is to dread going to work each day in a hostile and stressful environment. To feel mistreated and unsupported is a deep burden, and it is right to bring that sorrow before God and to seek help.

It is also understandable to desire justice and for wrongs to be addressed. Yet the Gospel calls us to seek a justice that is mingled with mercy. We are taught to have a gentle and human soul, and to remember that we ourselves stand in need of forgiveness for much greater things before God. When we ask God for mercy for ourselves, we are also called to show consideration to others, even when we have suffered. The Lord teaches us not to demand a punishment greater than what is just, but to show restraint and to leave room for grace.

Anger is a strong passion, and it can quickly take hold of the heart. It is like a fire that harms both body and soul, and it can make our words and actions displeasing even to ourselves. God gave us anger not so that we would use it against one another, but so that we would be zealous against sin and against the enemy of our souls. For this reason we must guard our hearts, clip the wings of wrath, and be careful to speak gently, especially when we feel most provoked. A soft and humble heart finds rest, while a boastful or bitter heart is troubled by envy and strife.

So for your meeting tomorrow, I will pray not for vengeance, but for what is good and pleasing to God. I will pray that God gives you wisdom and guards your mouth, so that you speak with clarity, truth, and gentleness, and that you are kept from words you would later regret. I will pray that God softens the hearts of all who are present, including your own, and fills the room with fairness, compassion, and honest listening. I will pray that those in authority act with both justice and mercy, seeking not only to hold people accountable where needed, but to bring true change and healing to the whole workplace. And I will pray that God heals your heart from bitterness and anxiety, and grants you peace, whether through correction, reconciliation, or a better path forward that He provides.

May the Lord guide you, give you rest for your soul, and help you to walk in forgiveness as you have been forgiven, trusting Him to be the perfect judge who sees all things and will do what is right.
