We understand the burden of those facing unemployment and the stress it brings to individuals and families. We stand with you in prayer and offer encouragement from God's Word.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging Jesus Christ our Lord as the only source of stability. It is only through His Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit that we trust in faith for everything in this life. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Nothing is guaranteed in this life, not even our jobs. However, our hope is not to be in this world or anything in it but in Christ Jesus. Just as He admonishes us in 1 John 2:15-17 WEB
Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.
Our hearts go out to those struggling with the shock and instability that comes with sudden job loss. We pray for your peace and provision in this time of need. Remember the words of Paul in Philippians 4:6-7 and 4:19 WEB
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
In these times of despair, hold on to the promise in Romans 8:28 WEB
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
It is a difficult time, but we encourage you to trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. As stated in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up all those who are seeking employment and facing financial instability. We pray that You guide them through this time of despair, and that they will draw closer to You. We ask that You open doors of opportunity and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Help them to trust in You and to cast all their anxieties on You. Help them to be strong in you and not to give up. Help them to show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in the midst of this hardship. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen
