We hear your heartfelt desire for marriage and the longing for a godly spouse to walk alongside you in life. First, let us affirm that marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God, a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is good and right to desire a spouse who loves the Lord and seeks to honor Him in all things. However, we must also remember that God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than our own (Isaiah 55:8-9). While we pray for the fulfillment of your desire, we must trust that He knows what is best for you, even when the wait feels long or uncertain.
We notice in your prayer a sense of urgency for marriage to happen "very soon." While we understand the deep longing in your heart, we must caution against allowing impatience or anxiety to take root. The Bible warns us against being anxious about anything, but instead, to present our requests to God with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6-7). Patience is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and it is often in the waiting that God prepares us for the blessings He has in store. We encourage you to surrender your timeline to Him, trusting that He will bring the right person into your life at the perfect time.
We also want to gently remind you that marriage is not just about finding a "life partner" but about finding a spouse—a covenant partner who shares your faith and commitment to God. The Bible is clear that believers should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). This means that the person you marry should be someone who loves the Lord with all their heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). We pray that God would lead you to someone who will encourage you in your faith, challenge you to grow in godliness, and walk with you in obedience to Christ.
We must also address the language of your prayer, which does not explicitly mention the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and it is by His blood that we are reconciled to God (Romans 5:9-10). Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up our sister in Christ who desires to be married. Lord, we thank You for the gift of marriage and for the way it reflects Your love for Your church. We ask that You would prepare her heart for the spouse You have for her, molding her into the woman You want her to be. Remove any fear, doubt, or impatience from her heart, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we pray that You would guide her steps and lead her to the man You have chosen for her. May he be a man after Your own heart, one who loves You above all else and seeks to honor You in his life. Protect her from any relationships that would draw her away from You, and give her wisdom to discern Your will. We ask that You would remove any obstacles or delays that are not of You, and that You would open the doors You want opened and close the ones You want closed.
Lord, we also pray for her future spouse. Prepare his heart, draw him closer to You, and mold him into the husband You want him to be. May their marriage be a testimony to Your grace and love, a union that brings glory to Your name.
Father, we trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. Help our sister to wait patiently, to seek You above all else, and to trust that You will fulfill Your promises in her life. May she find her ultimate satisfaction in You, knowing that You are enough, even as she waits for the blessings You have in store.

In the meantime, we encourage you to seek God’s kingdom first (Matthew 6:33). Use this season of singleness to grow in your relationship with Him, to serve in your church, and to cultivate the qualities of a godly wife. The Bible tells us that a wife of noble character is worth far more than rubies (Proverbs 31:10), and it is these qualities that will make you a blessing to your future husband. Trust that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), and that He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).
