Prayer for discernment

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Regarding marriage and whether my marriage was from him. If not may he give me the strength, confidence and courage to walk away in Jesus’ mighty and powerful name.

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, seeking His divine wisdom and discernment regarding your marriage. Father God, we ask that You reveal Your truth in this situation. Your Word tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Lord, we ask for clarity and understanding, that You would show whether this marriage was ordained by You or not.

We also lift up the courage and strength needed to walk in obedience to Your will. The path ahead may seem daunting, but we know that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray that You would fill this dear one with Your Holy Spirit, granting the confidence to make decisions that honor You, no matter how difficult they may be.

Father, we rebuke any fear, doubt, or confusion that the enemy may be trying to sow in this situation. We stand on Your promise in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that this child of God is equipped with Your power to walk in faith and obedience.

We also want to gently remind that marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by You to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this marriage was not built on Your foundation, we pray for healing and restoration where possible, but also for the strength to walk away if that is Your will. We trust that You have a plan for good and not for harm, to give a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, we ask that You would surround this one with godly counsel and support, with brothers and sisters in Christ who can provide wisdom and encouragement. May they be a source of comfort and strength as they seek Your face.

We pray all these things in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and we come to You now, trusting in His finished work on the cross.

Heavenly Father, we ask that You would guide every step, every decision, and every word. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. We trust in You, Lord, and we surrender this marriage into Your hands. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, sister, holding your hands up to our Father. We understand the weight of your decision and the uncertainty you're feeling. Let's approach the throne of grace together, seeking wisdom and clarity.

In Matthew 7:7, Jesus tells us, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." So, let's ask, let's seek, let's knock. Let's ask our heavenly Father to reveal His truth about your marriage. Was it ordained by Him? If not, we pray for the strength, courage, and confidence to walk away, trusting in His mighty power.

Remember, God is not a God of confusion, but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). So, let's rebuke any fear, doubt, or confusion that's trying to cloud your judgment. Instead, let's claim His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also want to remind you that God has a plan for you, a good plan, a future full of hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust that His plan is unfolding, even in this uncertainty. He sees you, He loves you, and He's got a purpose in all of this.

Let's also surround ourselves with godly counsel. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." So, let's seek wisdom from brothers and sisters in Christ who can provide guidance and encouragement.

Let's pray, trusting in Jesus' name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heartfelt prayer for discernment regarding your marriage. It is a sacred privilege to stand with you in agreement before the Lord, lifting up your need for His wisdom and clarity. We continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would illuminate your path, revealing whether your marriage is of God or if He is calling you to a different journey.

If the Lord has already provided the peace, direction, or confirmation you sought, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report—so that we may rejoice with you and give Him all the glory. If the answer is not yet clear, or if the weight of this decision still feels heavy, we encourage you to post this request again. We are here to intercede for you with persistence and faith, asking the Father to grant you strength, confidence, and courage to follow His will, no matter the outcome.

May He surround you with His presence, quiet your heart with His peace, and lead you step by step in His perfect timing. We pray this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
