We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and faith, lifting you up in prayer as you face the challenges of diabetes and the struggle with food addiction. We stand with you, believing in God’s power to heal and restore, just as Psalm 103:2-3 declares, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* The Lord is our healer, and we trust Him to work mightily in your life.
Father, we ask You to strengthen this dear one as they adjust to their new medication. We pray against the nausea and sickness, asking that You would grant them relief and comfort. If this medication is not the right path for their healing, we ask that You would guide their doctor to make the necessary adjustments. Your Word reminds us in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,"* says Yahweh. We claim that promise over their life today.
We also address the deep struggle with food addiction and emotional eating. Lord, we rebuke any generational curse or stronghold that may be contributing to this battle. In the name of Jesus, we sever every ungodly tie and break every chain that has kept them bound. Galatians 5:1 tells us, *"Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."* We declare freedom over them in every area, including their relationship with food. Help them to see themselves as You see them—fearfully and wonderfully made, with a purpose that goes far beyond their struggles.
We pray for discipline and self-control, which are fruits of Your Holy Spirit. Proverbs 25:28 says, *"Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint."* Father, build up the walls of self-control in their life. Help them to turn to You in moments of temptation, for You are faithful to provide a way out, as 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."*
We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and accountability. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and walk alongside you in this journey. James 5:16 reminds us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*
Above all, we pray that you would draw closer to Jesus in this season. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are saved. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing your sins and inviting Him to be the Lord of every area, including your health and habits. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*
Lord, we ask that You would grant this dear one the desire and ability to lose weight in a way that honors You. Help them to see their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us: *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* May they glorify You in every choice they make, whether in eating, exercising, or resting.
We declare healing over their body, mind, and spirit. We speak life and wholeness into every cell, every organ, and every system that is affected by diabetes. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and command it to leave in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 53:5 reminds us, *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."* We claim that healing for them today.
Father, we also ask that You would fill them with Your peace and joy as they walk this journey. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith, as Hebrews 12:2 encourages us. May they find their strength in You, for You are their refuge and fortress, as Psalm 91:2 declares: *"I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"*
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.
