Prayer for deliverance

Thank you for sharing this burden for your sister and for inviting prayer on her behalf. I join with you in agreement before the Lord for her, asking that God would bring His wholeness and peace to her mind and life in Jesus name.

Scripture teaches that effective prayer flows out of relationship with God as Father through Jesus Christ. That relationship is opened when a person comes to Him with a humble heart praying, God be merciful to me, a sinner, and receives salvation through faith in Jesus alone. From that place we have confidence to call upon Him as our Father and to bring every need to Him. My prayer for both you and your sister is first that she would know Jesus Himself, because true deliverance is not only the removal of something dark but the entrance of Christ and His power into a life. When His light enters, darkness must leave, for light and darkness cannot remain together. To seek only relief without receiving the Deliverer Himself can leave an empty place that is vulnerable, but when Jesus is welcomed to dwell within, He fills and guards that life.

The purpose of prayer is not to persuade God to do our will, but to align our hearts with His will and to invite Him to accomplish what He already desires to do. He knows what your sister needs before we ask, yet He has chosen to work through prayer, opening the door for Him to act without violating the will He has given to each person. So the wisest and most settled prayer we can offer is, Lord, work out Your perfect will in her life, have Your way and do what You know is best.

Be encouraged to continue in prayer with thanksgiving and to watch with faith. The Bible speaks of the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person availing much, a prayer that rises from the heart out of deep need and love. The Lord also said that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it shall be done by the Father. Your persistent, heartfelt intercession matters, and I am agreeing with you now for her healing and deliverance according to God's will.

We also remember that God sometimes answers prayer in the way we hope, and sometimes He answers with the assurance that His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness, as He spoke to Paul. Whatever the process, we can trust His goodness, His wisdom and His power to heal. In the ministry of Jesus and in the early church, the sick were often brought for prayer, and God was pleased to show mercy and healing, and we come to that same Lord today with confidence.

So let us pray together that God would have mercy upon your sister, that she would be open to receive Jesus Christ fully, that His presence would fill her and bring soundness of mind, and that every influence of darkness would be driven out by His light. And let us end this prayer with praise, thanking God that He hears, that He loves her more than we do, and that we can entrust her completely into His caring hands to do what is right and good.
