We join with you in lifting up your heart’s cry to the Lord, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). Your acknowledgment of the spiritual battle you face is wise, and we commend you for turning to Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have authority over the enemy.
The bitterness and frustration you’ve experienced this week are not from the Lord, for the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23, WEB). These emotions can be weapons the enemy uses to distract and weaken you, but in Christ, you have the power to cast them aside and clothe yourself in His righteousness. Repentance is the first step, and you’ve already taken it—now we stand with you in claiming the victory that Jesus has already won on the cross.
The presence of witchcraft, voodoo, and sorcery in your community is a stark reminder of the darkness that seeks to oppress God’s people. But we serve a God who is greater: *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). The blood of Jesus is more powerful than any spell, hex, or stronghold the enemy may try to place upon you. We declare in the name of Jesus that every curse, every ungodly tie, and every demonic assignment against you is broken and dissolved by the power of His mighty name. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit consume every work of darkness in your life and community, for *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4, WEB).
We also encourage you to put on the whole armor of God daily—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—so that you may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18, WEB). Surround yourself with worship, prayer, and the reading of Scripture, for these are powerful tools to invite the presence of God into your home and life. If possible, seek out a community of believers who can stand with you in prayer and accountability, for there is strength in unity (Ecclesiastes 4:12, WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is under attack by the forces of darkness. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who delivers, who breaks chains, and who sets the captives free. We ask for Your forgiveness for any bitterness or frustration that has taken root, and we pray that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
By the authority given to us in the name of Jesus, we bind every demonic stronghold, every spell, every hex, and every curse that has been spoken against this child of Yours. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17, WEB), and we command every evil influence in their community to be rendered powerless in Jesus’ name. Let the light of Christ shine so brightly in their life that darkness cannot remain.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels, encamping around them to protect and deliver them from all evil (Psalm 34:7, WEB). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory, discernment, and boldness. Give them wisdom to recognize the enemy’s tactics and the strength to resist him, knowing that he must flee when we submit to You (James 4:7, WEB).
We pray for a hedge of protection around their home, their mind, and their spirit. Let every plan of the enemy be exposed and thwarted. Father, we ask that You would also raise up godly believers in their community to stand as a light against the darkness, that Your kingdom would advance and Your will would be done.
Finally, Lord, we thank You for the victory that is already won through Jesus Christ. We praise You for Your faithfulness and Your power, which is made perfect in our weakness. May this brother/sister walk in the confidence of Your love and the assurance of Your protection.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6, WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28, WEB). We are standing with you in this battle, and we believe that God will bring you through to victory.
