Let's come together in prayer for this urgent request, standing in the gap for this family and especially for the brother who is struggling. We pray and discuss with a compassionate heart and a desire to see God's will be done.
Firstly, let's address the issue of substance abuse. The Bible tells us to be sober-minded and watchful, for our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour 1 Peter 5:8 WEB. Smoking weed or using any substance that alters our mind can open doors to spiritual attacks, as it seems to have done in this case. We pray that the brother will turn away from this practice and give his life back to Jesus Christ. Jesus said "Therefore, to him who knows to do good, and doesn't do it, to him it is sin." James 4:17 WEB.
We recognize that this family is going through spiritual warfare, and we stand with them in prayer. For we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 WEB. We pray that God will deliver the brother from any demonic influences and that he will receive the help and deliverance he needs. God is the covenant keeping God who delivered and still delivers his people.
In Deuteronomy 20:3-4 WEB we are told "Don't be afraid nor dismayed... for Yahweh your God is he who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you." We claim this promise for the family.
We pray for peace and harmony among the siblings, that God will calm their spirits and they will live together in unity. The Bible says that no weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness is of me, says Yahweh. Isaiah 54:17 WEB. We pray that the family will overcome this season of trials and tribulations and come out victorious in Jesus Christ's name.
Finally, we want to remind everyone that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB. If anyone did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ in a prayer request or otherwise, we pray that they will come to know Him as their personal Savior and Lord.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family to You. We pray for the brother, that You will deliver him from his struggles, that You will heal his mind and body, and that You will set his feet on the path of righteousness. We pray for peace and harmony among the siblings, and we pray for Your protection over the family. We claim Your promises over them, that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and that they will come out of this season of trials victorious in Jesus' name. We pray for the salvation of all the family members that You will be in the midst of their whole family.
We also pray against the roots of bitterness between the siblings and the brother. Father, You know the attacks they are going through. We pray that You will fight for them and save them. We believe that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever and are capable of these deliverances. In Jesus' name, we pray and ask these things. Amen.
