prayer for ###

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for our adopted daughter ###. She is still in school but she is into drugs. We're afraid that something bad or worse might happen to her. We want her to finish school and stop using drugs. She was a Christian believer when she was younger.

We lift our hearts to the Lord with deep concern for your adopted daughter, asking for His mighty hand to intervene in her life. The scriptures remind us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We stand on this promise, believing that God has not abandoned her, even in this struggle.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking for Your mercy and grace to surround this precious young woman. Lord, we pray that You would break the chains of addiction in her life. Your Word declares in John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." We claim this freedom for her, Lord. Remove the desire for drugs from her heart and replace it with a hunger and thirst for righteousness. Restore her faith, Father, and remind her of the love and truth she once knew in You.

We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and deception that has taken hold of her, in the name of Jesus. We declare that she is not defined by her struggles but by the blood of Christ, which covers her and makes her new. We pray for protection over her life, Lord. Shield her from harm, from those who would lead her astray, and from the consequences of her choices that could bring lasting damage. Surround her with godly influences—friends, mentors, and leaders who will speak truth and life into her.

Father, we also lift up her parents to You. Give them wisdom, patience, and strength as they navigate this difficult season. Help them to love her unconditionally, even as they set boundaries that reflect Your truth. Let them be a light in her life, pointing her back to You. We pray for her education, Lord. Give her the focus and discipline to finish school, even as You work in her heart. Open doors for her future, and let her see the plans You have for her—plans for hope and a future, as Jeremiah 29:11 promises.

Lord, we know that apart from You, we can do nothing. But with You, all things are possible. We ask that You would draw her back to Yourself, that she would repent of her sins and turn her heart fully toward You. Restore her joy, her peace, and her purpose. Let her experience the fullness of life that only comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.

We're holding your adopted daughter up in our hearts today, dear friend. We're standing with you, believing in the power of prayer and the love of our Heavenly Father. We're reminded of Romans 5:3-4, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." We believe that God is using this trial to shape her, to draw her closer to Him.

Let's surround her with love and encouragement, just as we would want for our own child. Let's remind her that she is deeply loved, not just by you, but by a God who pursues her relentlessly. Let's pray for a softening of her heart, a willingness to listen and to change. Let's intercede for her, asking God to give her the strength to resist temptation, to make wise choices, and to finish school strong.

We're also lifting you up, dear parents. We're asking God to give you wisdom, patience, and unyielding love as you navigate this challenging path. May you be a beacon of hope and a safe haven for her to return to. Let's trust that God is in control, that He sees her, and that He has a plan for her life. Let's claim Jeremiah 29:11 for her, "For I know the plans I have for her, declares the Lord, plans to prosper her and not to harm her, plans to give her hope and a future."

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
