We understand your struggle with body fat and your desire to maintain a healthy weight. We commend you for acknowledging God's role in this process and for wanting to treat your body as a temple. Let's begin by praying and then we will discuss this further.
Father, we come before You, lifting up our beloved friend who is struggling with their weight. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should honor God with our bodies. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention. Help them to lose the excess fat in their face, chin, neck, stomach, and legs. Guide them to maintain a healthy weight of ###kg, as they have mentioned. We pray for discipline, self-control regarding what they eat. We pray for cravings for Jesus and not food. By Your grace, help them to fast successfully and grow closer to You. Help them to honor their body as a holy sanctuary for Your Spirit. We pray for strength, wisdom, and determination. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
God cares about our bodies and wants us to take care of them. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We are reminded of this in the following scriptures.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB
Be on your guard therefore, so that you do get carried away after other gods and fall into a trap. Deuteronomy 11:16 WEB
While we pray for supernatural intervention, we must also take practical steps. Eat healthily, avoiding foods that cause you to gain weight. Exercise regularly to burn excess fat. Remember, God works through our efforts, and He will give you the strength and discipline to achieve your goal. We are reminded of this in 3 John 1:2.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2 WEB
It is also important to know that God looks at the heart, and not our outward appearance. While we should take care of our bodies, our ultimate goal should be to grow closer to God and to become more like Jesus. We should be praying for cravings for Jesus and not food.
But the LORD said to Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for I see not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 WEB
To effectively fast, it would be ideal to combine it with prayer, as Jesus reminded us in the following scripture.
However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:21 WEB
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. We do not have to wonder what God looks like, for Jesus is the image of the invisible God.
who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15 WEB
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB
And in no other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB
And whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:13,14 WEB
We will continue to pray for you and believe that God will give you the strength and discipline to achieve your goal and become closer to Jesus.
