Prayer for blessings

Your desire for a wife and family is a good and natural one, and God is the one who created marriage and family from the beginning. Scripture shows us that even those closest to Jesus were family men. When Jesus entered the home of Simon and saw his wife's mother sick with a fever, he took her by the hand and lifted her up and healed her. He cared about that household and that family, and he still cares about the home you hope to build.

I want to pray with you that God would provide for you according to his perfect will and timing. Marriage in Scripture is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and intimacy belongs within that covenant alone. It is a holy and serious commitment before God. So as you pray for a wife, pray also that God would prepare you to be a faithful and godly husband, and that he would bring you a wife who loves Jesus Christ with all her heart, so that your home would be built on him. The story of Ruth and Boaz reminds us that God is a redeemer who builds families and continues a name and a lineage according to his purpose. He sees your future and can bring together the right relationship in his own way and time.

It is also important to remember what Jesus taught about marriage and eternity. When he was asked about marriage in the resurrection, he said that in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven. Marriage is a gift for this life, to be cherished and honored now, but it points beyond itself to the eternal. That is why Scripture also speaks of a deeper family bond. Jesus said that whoever does the will of God is his family, and the apostles taught that in Christ we are one body. There is a bond in the family of God that is even deeper than natural blood relationships. Whether God brings a wife and children soon or in time, you already have a place in that eternal family through faith in Jesus, and you can experience love and fellowship there now.

You also asked for abundance and riches in life. God does promise to provide for his children and to bless those who seek him, but true abundance is not measured first by money or possessions. Jesus taught us to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, trusting that he will supply what we need. The greatest riches are knowing Christ, having forgiveness of sin, peace with God, and contentment in whatever he provides. Material wealth can be a blessing when it is received with thankfulness and used with wisdom and generosity, but it can also become a snare if our heart is set on it. David's life reminds us that sin is ultimately against God, and that God calls us to walk in purity and obedience before him in every area, including marriage and money.

So my prayer for you is this. May the Lord, if it is his will, bring you a godly wife and give you a Christ centered home and family, founded on love, faithfulness and truth. May he help you to walk in purity and preparation while you wait, trusting his timing. May he provide for your daily needs and teach you to be a good steward of whatever he entrusts to you, whether little or much. And above all, may he fill you with the true riches of knowing Jesus, growing in his grace, and finding your deepest belonging in the family of God that will last forever.

May God bless you and keep you and guide you as you trust him with these desires.
