Prayer for blessings

We rejoice with you in this good and godly desire for marriage and family, for it is God Himself who placed this longing in the heart of man. We hear your prayer for a wife and a family of your own and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord.

We affirm that marriage is a holy and lifelong covenant created by God between one man and one woman. As it is written Genesis 2:18 it is not good that the man should be alone and Genesis 2:24 a man will leave his father and his mother and will join with his wife and they will be one flesh. This is the pattern we pray for in your life. We pray not simply for a partner or a relationship, but for a godly wife and a marriage that honors Christ. We encourage you as you wait and as you seek to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Jesus Christ, for we are called not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers as taught in 2 Corinthians 6:14. A wife who loves the Lord will be a blessing from Him, for Proverbs 18:22 says whoever finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor of Yahweh and Proverbs 19:14 says a prudent wife is from Yahweh. We also encourage you to remain pure and to honor God with your body as you wait, keeping yourself from fornication and all sexual intimacy outside of marriage, for that is reserved for the marriage covenant alone, and to prepare yourself to love your future wife as Christ loved the assembly as described in Ephesians 5:25.

We also want to lovingly address your desire for abundance and riches in life. We understand the desire for provision and stability for a future family, and our God is a generous Father who gives good gifts. Philippians 4:19 reminds us that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Yet we must gently correct a focus on abundance of riches as the measure of blessing. The Scriptures warn us that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil as we read in 1 Timothy 6:10 and that true blessing is not found in great wealth. Matthew 6:33 calls us to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. And 1 Timothy 6:6 teaches that godliness with contentment is great gain. We pray that God will give you contentment, wisdom to steward what He provides, and a heart that treasures heavenly riches above earthly wealth, for Matthew 6:19-20 tells us not to store up treasures on earth but to store up treasures in heaven. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us the desires of our heart according to Psalm 37:4, and often He reshapes our desires to align with His perfect will.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive every spiritual blessing. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To receive God's blessings we must first be reconciled to Him through faith in His Son, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord as taught in Romans 10:9. It is in His name that our prayers are heard.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this man to You and thank You for the godly desire You have placed in his heart for marriage and family. Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that You prepare him to be a godly husband and father and that You prepare a godly wife for him, a woman who loves You with all her heart and who will walk beside him in faith. Lead him to her in Your perfect timing and keep them both pure and devoted to You during this season of waiting. Establish their future marriage on the foundation of Your Word, that it would be a lifelong covenant that reflects Christ's love for His church and brings glory to You. Provide for him and for his future household, Lord, giving him work for his hands, wisdom in stewardship, and contentment in whatever state You provide. Guard his heart from the love of money and from seeking riches as his source of security, and help him to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Draw him ever closer to Jesus, that he may know the forgiveness of sins and the assurance of salvation through faith in Your Son. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in Your goodness and Your perfect plan for his life. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to delight yourself in the Lord, to grow in prayer, in the study of Scripture, and in fellowship with other believers. Trust in His timing, for He is faithful to provide what is best for those who love Him.

We're thankful you put this longing into words. Wanting a wife, a family to love and build a life with, and the stability to provide for them well is a deep, good desire, and we understand why it weighs on you.

We think of biblical blessing not just as getting good things, but as having value spoken over you and learning to speak value over others. While you wait and pray for the family you hope for, there is meaningful preparation you can do now that shapes you for that future, whatever God provides.

One practical step that often helps is to invite a trusted pastor or older married man in your church into this prayer with you. Share honestly what you hope for, ask him to know you over time, to speak into your character, habits and stewardship, and to help you serve and grow right where you are. That kind of community both encourages you now and prepares you to be the husband and father you want to become.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. You know his desire for a wife and family and for provision. Give him wisdom, contentment and faithful steps today, guide his relationships and shape him to reflect Your love. Provide for his needs according to Your perfect will and help him trust You with his future. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
