Prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join with you in this earnest plea for truth and righteousness, lifting up the team at , their lawyers, and all involved in this matter. The Word of God declares, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6). Lord, we ask that You ignite within them an unquenchable thirst for Your truth, a hunger that can only be satisfied by Your Word and Your ways.

Father, we recognize that the enemy seeks to blind minds and bind hearts with deception, but we stand on the promise that "the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them" (2 Corinthians 4:4). Yet, we know that You are greater, and we pray that the scales would fall from their eyes, that they would see the truth of the Gospel and turn from their sins. We rebuke every lie of Satan that has taken root in their hearts and minds, and we declare that Your truth will prevail.

We are grieved by the disregard for human life and honest communication, for Your Word commands us to "speak the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15) and to "defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed" (Psalm 82:3). Lord, convict their hearts of any unrighteousness, and lead them to repentance. May they come to hate sin as You hate sin, and may they turn from it with broken and contrite hearts, as Psalm 51:17 declares, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise."

We also lift up those who are already believers among them. May they be covered by the precious blood of Jesus and filled with Your peace and understanding. Strengthen them to stand firm in their faith, to act with righteousness and compassion, and to be a light in the darkness. Let them not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2).

Father, we acknowledge that true righteousness does not come from human wisdom or education, but from You alone. As it is written, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12). We pray that You would humble their hearts, that they would recognize their need for You, and that they would surrender their lives to Christ. Only through Jesus can they find forgiveness, redemption, and the power to live righteously.

We thank You, Holy Spirit, for interceding on our behalf and for them, even when we do not know how to pray. We exalt the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that Your will shall be done in this situation, and we trust in Your perfect justice and mercy.

Heavenly Father, we pray that You would move mightily in the hearts of these individuals. Break the chains of deception, expose the lies they have believed, and fill them with a passion for Your truth. May they come to know You personally, experience Your love, and walk in Your ways. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this matter, just as it is in heaven.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We are moved by the passion behind your prayer, your grief over dishonesty and disregard for life comes through clearly. It is hard to watch people who have been entrusted with so much knowledge use it in ways that hurt others, and your response is not self-righteousness but a plea for God to change their hearts. We want to stand with you in that, without adding to the weight you already feel.

What stands out most is that you are not just praying against something, but for something deeply good: an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. That is a desire God loves to answer. We have seen him stir consciences in surprising ways, even in people who seemed far from compassion. Your role, for now, may simply be to keep lifting them before him, trusting that the Holy Spirit can do what no argument or exposure can. You do not have to convince them yourself; you can pour that concern into prayer and leave it in God’s hands.

While you wait to see how God works, you might also find it meaningful to write brief, specific prayers for the individuals on your heart, perhaps not naming them online, but holding them before the Lord in your own words, a few sentences each day. That can turn the heaviness you feel into a steady, hopeful offering rather than a burden you carry alone.

Let’s pray together now:

Lord Jesus, we bring these lawyers and representatives to you. You know where they are blind to truth and hardened to compassion. In your mercy, stir their consciences and soften what has grown calloused. Give them a genuine hunger for what is right, even if it costs them. Protect those who are vulnerable to their decisions, and let your justice and mercy prevail. We trust your Spirit to intercede far beyond what we can see. Amen.

What a mercy that you have been taught to pray, not for mere outward reform, but for that deep-seated work of the Spirit, a broken and contrite heart. You have laid hold of a most precious truth from Psalm 51, that all the blood of bulls and goats can never take away sin, and that the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. Yet I must press this home to your own soul and theirs: that acceptable sacrifice is not something a man can carve out of his own flinty nature. True repentance is not a garment to be woven by human fingers; it is a gift of the exalted Prince and Saviour. To pray for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is to pray for the very work of Christ, who is the Sun of Righteousness, to arise with healing in His wings.

The terrible sight of educated men, lawyers who know every letter of the law, yet engaging in horrible sin and disregarding human life, does indeed grieve the heart. But let this grief drive you to a sure foundation. Judgments and calamities, even the most terrible, do not in themselves produce that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which accompanies salvation. Men may be scorched with the fire of conviction and yet repent not to give God glory. Their sorrow may be the sorrow of the flesh that works death, a repentance that needs to be repented of, if it does not bring them with empty hands to the cross. You see, the repentance that saves is always interwoven with faith. It is a repentance that leads you to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only. What a dead, legal, and fruitless thing is that remorse which keeps a man standing at the foot of Sinai, and never brings him weeping to Calvary.

Therefore, when you plead the precious blood over them, and cry out for their forgiveness, do not imagine that repentance and remission of sins are to be preached after the manner of Moses or even John the Baptist, as a preparation merely. We are to preach repentance in the name of Jesus, as the gift of His royal hand. You are not to draw it up from the depths of your own heart, but to ask Christ to work it by His Holy Spirit. It is the goodness of God that leads to repentance; not the whip of the slaveholder, but the cords of love drawing the heart. The vision of a sin-atoning Saviour is the true fountain of an unquenchable thirst for righteousness, for it dissolves the soul in grateful love and creates a hatred of the sin that pierced His side. A man never knows the true bitterness for sin until he has known the inexpressible sweetness of knowing it is pardoned.

Lay hold of this yourself, I charge you. Beware of that subtle self-righteousness which can creep in when we compare our prayers for truth with the sins of others. If you trust to your faith and to your repentance as a reason for God's favour, you will be as certainly lost as if you trusted to your good works. True repentance gives God all the glory, both for the cleansing blood and the broken heart. It produces works meet for repentance, it endures, it abides; it is a sweet companion sister even unto the gates of pearl. Pray on, with great boldness, that these lawyers and their representatives may not have a repentance of terror only, but a repentance unto life; that they may not simply be sorry they are caught in the net of transgression, but that they may see the Sun of Righteousness and loathe the darkness of their lies. Plead that He would open their lips, and yours, to show forth His praise alone. It is decision for Christ and His truth, not mere moral reformation, that will have the greatest power in this dark matter.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pray for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness to be kindled in those lawyers, and you do well to seek this from the Lord. For did He not stand and cry, "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink"? He draws the willing, not by compulsion. If they have any spark of desire, call them to the Fountain. But that thirst is not a matter of words only; it means to hunger and thirst after righteousness with all the intensity of a covetous man chasing after gain. A man who truly thirsts will never be weary until he drinks deeply.

Yet remember, righteousness is not a mask. Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, and his servants as ministers of righteousness. True righteousness is a breastplate, a life of universal virtue that no devil can pierce. It is "in righteousness and holiness of truth" that the new man is created in baptism, not in outward show. So pray that they may strip off falsehood, that their hearts, like yours, may become broken and contrite a sacrifice God will not despise. For willful sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth leaves no more sacrifice, but a fearful expectation of judgment and unquenchable fire. These are not my words but the Apostle's.

Therefore, do not cease to intercede for them, but show them the path. Let your own life be a proof of what is well-pleasing to the Lord. Pray that God may increase the fruits of their righteousness by turning them to compassion and alms, for almsgiving quenches the fire of sin and yields a harvest of righteousness. Their worldly learning will not save them; demons themselves believe and tremble. But if their thirst for truth becomes a longing for the living water, they will find Him who alone can satisfy. So let your prayer be joined with tears and a gentle witness, that they may not merely know the truth but drink it, and from their bellies will flow rivers of living water.

The grief you feel over what is happening is itself a sign of the Spirit at work. You are seeing what God sees, and it is right to be burdened. That cry for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is exactly what the Lord honors, because He is the one who plants that thirst deep within every human soul.

What you are witnessing in those lawyers is not merely a lapse in professional conduct but a deeper, spiritual drought. There is a thirst in them they are trying to fill with something else, perhaps with power, with winning, with a sense of control. But Jesus’ words to the woman at the well ring true for every person: whoever drinks of that water, the water of worldly ambition and human strategy, will thirst again. It never satisfies. Every earthly prize you win leaves you reaching for the next one, and the ache remains. The real thirst they have is not for a favorable ruling or a legal victory; it is a thirst for the living God.

When a person truly sees themselves in the light of God’s holiness, it creates the very hunger and thirst Jesus speaks of. It is a recognition that my own righteousness, no matter how educated or morally polished, is like filthy rags. It is the place where we stop trying to establish our own righteousness and cry out for His. That is the broken and contrite heart God will not despise. Your prayer for their hearts to be stirred is a prayer for them to reach that exact point of profound emptiness, where every other cistern they have dug proves to be cracked and dry.

The real need here is not just that they act more truthfully, but that they become ignorant no longer of the righteousness God provides. Righteousness is not a code they can master through legal expertise; Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. For those of them who are Christians, you are praying rightly for the precious blood of Jesus to cover them and for peace to rule in their hearts, so they will follow their true Lord. For those who are lost, your prayer is that this thirst for truth would drive them to the only One who is Truth. He promised that if any man thirsts, he should come to Him and drink, and out of his innermost being would flow rivers of living water. That promise is the answer to the prayer you have prayed.
