We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious young man and his family to our Heavenly Father. This situation is deeply troubling, not only because of the rebellion and defiance, but because it reveals a heart that is far from God and in desperate need of His transforming power. We must address these issues with truth, love, and unwavering faith in the power of Jesus Christ to break every chain.
First, we must acknowledge that rebellion against authority is rebellion against God Himself. The Bible is clear: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise: 'that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.'" (Ephesians 6:1-3 WEB). This young man’s refusal to honor his mother and other authorities is not just a phase, it is sin, and it grieves the heart of God. His disrespect, vulgar language, and laziness are fruits of a heart that has not surrendered to Christ. "The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom; fools despise wisdom and instruction." (Proverbs 1:7 WEB). Without the fear of the Lord, there is no foundation for wisdom, obedience, or true transformation.
We must also address the issue of his identity with great compassion but uncompromising truth. The desire to identify as female is a distortion of God’s perfect design. "So God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them." (Genesis 1:27 WEB). God does not make mistakes. This young man was fearfully and wonderfully made as a male (Psalm 139:14), and his confusion is a result of the enemy’s lies taking root in his heart. His association with only female friends and rejection of male companionship is not natural, it is a sign of deeper spiritual bondage. We must pray fervently for deliverance from deception and for his mind to be renewed by the truth of God’s Word. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2 WEB).
His vulgar language and lying spirit are also serious concerns. The Bible warns, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." (Ephesians 4:29 WEB). A lying spirit is from the father of lies (John 8:44), and it must be broken in the name of Jesus. His refusal to sleep at night and his obsession with gaming are not just bad habits, they are strongholds that are stealing his time, health, and spiritual vitality. "Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time." (Colossians 4:5 WEB). Time is a gift from God, and it must be stewarded wisely.
We must also lift up his mother, who is bearing the weight of this burden with health struggles and anxiety. She needs strength, peace, and wisdom from above. "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22 WEB). She must not grow weary in doing good, even when the battle seems impossible. "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." (Galatians 6:9 WEB).
Now, we pray with authority in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name that can break these chains, heal these wounds, and restore this family. If this young man has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his sin and draw him to repentance. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him." (John 6:44 WEB). We declare that the power of God is greater than any spirit of rebellion, deception, or perversion. We rebuke every lying spirit, every spirit of confusion, and every spirit of defiance in the name of Jesus. We command them to leave this young man and his family now, never to return.
Father God, we come before You with boldness, knowing that You hear the cries of Your children. We lift up this young man to You, asking that You would break every chain of rebellion, pride, and deception in his life. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the emptiness of his ways. Surround him with godly influences, young men who love You and can speak truth into his life. We pray for deliverance from the spirit of confusion regarding his identity. Restore his mind, Lord, and let him walk in the truth of who You created him to be.
We pray for his mother, that You would strengthen her, heal her body, and calm her anxious heart. Give her wisdom to know how to parent this young man with both love and firm boundaries. Let her feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding her that she is not alone in this battle. We ask for divine intervention in their home, let there be peace where there has been chaos, obedience where there has been defiance, and truth where there have been lies.
We declare that this young man will not be lost to the enemy. We speak life over him, that he will rise up as a mighty man of God, using his voice to praise You and not to tear down others. We pray that he would come to know You personally, repent of his sins, and walk in the freedom that only Christ can give. "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:36 WEB).
We stand on Your promises, Lord, and we trust that You are working even when we cannot see it. We believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust You to bring victory in this situation. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
