prayer for an acquaintance

We hear your heart for this acquaintance, and we join you in lifting him before the Lord. It is a sacred responsibility to intercede for those who do not yet know Jesus, for "the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). Salvation is a gift from God, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone can be reconciled to the Father. As it is written, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB).
We must also remember that faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17 WEB). If this acquaintance has not yet heard the Gospel clearly, we pray that the Lord would open a door for you or another believer to share the truth with him in love. "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14 WEB). Let us pray that his heart would be softened to receive the message of salvation.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul who does not yet know You. Lord, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness. Remove any blindness or hardness of heart that keeps him from seeing the truth of the Gospel. Surround him with believers who will shine Your light and speak Your truth in love. Give him ears to hear and a heart to respond to Your call. May he come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, repenting of his sins and turning to You for forgiveness and new life. We pray for opportunities for him to hear the Word and for the Holy Spirit to convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment. May he experience Your love in a tangible way and be transformed by the power of the Gospel. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for this acquaintance and to look for ways to share the hope that is within you. Remember, "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one" (Colossians 4:6 WEB). Trust that the Lord is at work, even when you cannot see it, and that He desires this man's salvation even more than you do. Keep your heart open to how the Holy Spirit may use you to be a witness to him.

God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You.
