We come before the Lord with you in this time of financial distress, lifting up your concerns about the funds that have been tied up in shares for these many months. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* While we trust in God’s provision, we also know that He calls us to steward our resources wisely and seek His will in all things, including our financial decisions.
It is important to remember that our trust must never be placed in wealth, investments, or the systems of this world, but in the Lord alone. As Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* We encourage you to examine whether your heart has been anxious or overly focused on these earthly investments rather than seeking first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33).
We also urge you to consider whether the pursuit of financial gain through shares has been done with wisdom, prayer, and godly counsel. Proverbs 21:5 tells us, *"The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty."* If there has been any hastiness, lack of prayerful consideration, or reliance on worldly advice over godly wisdom, we ask that you repent and seek the Lord’s direction moving forward. The Bible warns against the love of money, which is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10), and we must guard our hearts against greed or fear, which can easily take root in financial struggles.
At the same time, we acknowledge that this situation has caused you distress, and we join you in asking the Lord for His intervention. We pray that if it is His will, He would provide a way for the recovery of these funds in a manner that honors Him. We also pray that He would give you wisdom to navigate this situation, whether through patience, seeking godly counsel, or making decisions that align with His Word. If there has been any wrongdoing or unethical behavior on the part of others that has led to this loss, we pray that the Lord would expose it and bring justice, for He is a God who sees all things and defends the oppressed.
Most importantly, we pray that this trial would draw you closer to the Lord, deepening your trust in Him rather than in the uncertainty of worldly investments. May you find peace in His sovereignty, knowing that He holds all things in His hands. Let us also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25-26: *"Therefore, I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"*
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother or sister to You, asking for Your mercy and provision in this time of financial need. Lord, You know the details of this situation, and we ask that You would move mightily to recover what has been lost if it aligns with Your will. Give them wisdom to make decisions that honor You and protect them from further harm. Guard their heart against anxiety, fear, or greed, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If there has been any misstep or sin in this matter, we ask for Your conviction and forgiveness, and for the strength to walk in obedience moving forward.
We also pray that You would provide for their needs in ways they cannot even imagine, opening doors of opportunity, blessing the work of their hands, and surrounding them with godly counsel. Remind them that their worth and security are found in You alone, not in their possessions or financial standing. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will add all these things to them.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, greed, or despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that You, Lord, are their Provider, their Shepherd, and their Strong Tower. May they rest in Your promises and walk in faith, knowing that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
