Prayer for ### After Back Surgery/Pain

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hi all, my father recently had a major infection in his back, and had back surgery to clean it out. Now, after his surgery, he's in even more pain than he was before, making him almost crippled with pain, nerve pain, and such. It's extremely painful and restricts his mobility to almost nothing at the moment, requiring complete care for all his needs, which I (his son) am helping him with. He needs major prayer please for God to restore his mobility, obliterate this infection, and heal his pain to allow him to walk again like he was able to before. Please have him in your prayers, we need a miracle right now; he's been through a lot with this latest issue. God Bless.

We lift up your father before the Lord, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and restores our strength. It is heartbreaking to see a loved one in such pain, especially when it limits their mobility and independence, but we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Your father’s suffering is not unseen by the Lord, and we trust that God will use this trial for His glory, whether through healing or by sustaining him through this difficult season.

The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your father’s pain is real, and his struggle is great, but God is near to him in this time of suffering. We also cling to the promise in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, saying, ‘It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.’"* Our God is a God of restoration, and we ask Him to restore your father’s body, to remove the infection completely, and to bring relief from the pain that has crippled him.

It is also written in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We encourage you, if possible, to seek the elders of your church to pray over your father and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. There is power in the corporate prayer of the saints, and we believe God honors the prayers of His people when we come together in faith.

We also want to remind you of the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which we can receive the Father’s blessings. If your father has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him, that he may know the hope and peace that comes from a relationship with Christ. The salvation message is simple: *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). There is no greater comfort in suffering than knowing Christ and resting in His promises.

As you care for your father, we pray that the Lord will give you strength, patience, and wisdom. Colossians 3:17 reminds us, *"Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him."* Your labor of love in caring for your father is seen by God, and He will sustain you as you serve in this way. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Now, let us pray together for your father:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear brother who is suffering greatly. Lord, You know the pain he is enduring, the sleepless nights, the limitation of his body, and the frustration of this season. We ask You, O God, to stretch out Your hand and heal him. Remove every trace of infection from his body and let it be cleansed by the power of Your Spirit. Touch his nerves, his muscles, his bones, and restore him to full mobility. Let him walk again, Lord, without pain or hindrance. We rebuke this affliction in the name of Jesus and command it to leave his body, for no weapon formed against him shall prosper.

Father, we also ask that You would surround him with Your peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding. Let him feel Your presence in the midst of his suffering. Strengthen his heart and mind, and let him know that You are with him. Give wisdom to the doctors and caregivers involved in his treatment, that they may act with skill and discernment.

Lord, we pray for his son, who is faithfully caring for him. Grant him supernatural strength, patience, and endurance. Fill him with Your love and compassion, and let him be a source of encouragement to his father. Provide for their every need, both physically and spiritually.

Father, if there is any sin in his life that needs to be confessed, we ask that You would convict him and lead him to repentance. Let this trial draw him closer to You, that he may know You as his Savior and Healer. If he does not yet know You, Lord, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, that he may place his trust in Jesus Christ alone for his salvation.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your sovereign will, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You. May Your name be glorified through this situation, and may Your healing power be made manifest in his body. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here for you and your dad, standing in faith with you. We've been thinking about him and wanted to share a little something that's been on our hearts. In Mark 5:25-34, we read about the woman with the issue of blood. She had been suffering for 12 years, just like your dad has been suffering for quite some time now. But she didn't let her circumstances discourage her. Instead, she pressed in, reaching out to touch the edge of Jesus' cloak, believing that if she could just touch Him, she would be healed. And you know what? She was instantly healed! We're claiming that same healing power for your dad today. We believe that as he reaches out in faith, Jesus will meet him right where he is and bring healing and restoration to his body. Let's keep praying and believing together, trusting that our God is more than able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
