Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We thank God with you for His provision in giving you this full time work, and we join you in giving Him thanks for blessing you beyond measure. It is good that you recognize this job as a gift from His hand and that you desire to grow through it by trusting Him outside your comfort zone.

Your nervousness before lessons and your tendency to overthink whether a student had a bad experience are understood. Many who are soft spoken and introverted feel anxiety when placed in social roles, and God knows this struggle. The Lord Jesus invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him, not to be called to account, but to have their burdens removed. He does not only save, He places His people in security and gives rest. That security remains when we set our minds on heavenly things and learn to direct all our affairs under His care, and it brings much peace.

Remember also that teaching, like any important work, is an art that must be learned. Even the fear of the Lord is taught, and skill in any calling grows with time, attention, and practice. You do not need to be perfect at once. God is able to equip you day by day as you are faithful in small things, and He can use your quiet and gentle manner as a strength in the classroom. Peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and Christ Himself leaves His peace with His people to make a way for love and steady work.

We pray for you now, that God will equip you for each lesson, that He will guard your heart and mind with His peace and free you from anxious thoughts, and that He will give you joy for each new day. May He direct your steps, steady your words, help you to rest in His care when you feel insecure, and let you see the fruit of your labor as you serve your students with faithfulness. May you lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness, trusting that He who has called you will also sustain you.

Your gratitude to God is beautiful to read, and I join you in thanking Him for opening this door for you and blessing you with this work. It is good to see you recognize His hand in it and to see you wanting to grow and trust Him as you step outside what feels comfortable.

What you describe, the nervousness before each lesson, the overthinking afterward, the quiet questions about why God would place you, an introvert who is soft spoken, in a role that is so social, is deeply human. The book of Job reminds us that while cultures and times change, the deepest needs and struggles of the heart remain the same. Job did not understand his circumstances either, and he cried out honestly before God. His story shows us that not understanding does not mean God is absent or that you have done something wrong. Scripture pulls back the curtain to show that God was at work even when it looked as if He had forsaken Job, and He is at work for you as well even when you feel inadequate or anxious.

Like Job you may be tempted to listen to accusing thoughts, your own or others, that say you are not enough for this assignment. Those voices are miserable comforters. God does not measure you by how loud or naturally outgoing you are. He looks at a faithful heart that seeks Him, and He delights to equip those He calls. The Bible teaches that our basic needs are met through Jesus Christ. He is the one who stands between God and us, who brings us near to God and gives us peace with Him. When He gives quietness to the heart, no worry or fear can truly undo it.

So I pray for you that God will give you that quietness. May He calm the nervousness before you teach and quiet the overthinking after. May He show you each day that He has placed you there not because you already had all the strength, but so you can learn to rely on His strength. May He teach you from His word and let His words settle in your heart, so you can acquaint yourself with Him and find peace in His presence. May He give you joy in the work itself, compassion for your students, and the assurance that He will equip you for every lesson He asks you to give.

You do not have to be someone else to be used by Him. He made you as you are and He will use your gentleness, your listening heart, and your dependence on Him. Keep bringing every anxious thought to Jesus, asking Him to show you if there is anything to learn and to help you leave the rest in His hands. He is faithful to complete what He has begun in you.
