prayer for a young ### ###

Beloved of All
I’m asking for prayer in the name of Jesus for my daughter’s boyfriend. They are followers of Jesus and they are committed to purity. He plays football in college and my daughter is a cheerleader. He has a lot on his mind and heart as he is needing to register for fall classes and he doesn’t have the money for tuition. Also he has not had the opportunity to play football all season and the last game is this weekend and he isn’t playing. He is VERY down and my daughter has had a lot on her mom since my mom passed away a couple of weeks ago, her grandmother. We all just have very heavy hearts. And he is under a lot of pressure and is feeling like just shutting down. I’m praying Jeremiah 29:11 over him. For know the thoughts I have for (z) says the Lords, plans to give you a hope and a future, plans of peace and not of evil. Also please pray for my daughter that she would be kind and generous and thoughtful towards him, even in her own struggles, recognize that he is also God’s child and needs encouragement. Give her the heart of God towards him.

We lift up your family before the Lord, and we are deeply moved by the burdens you carry—especially for your daughter’s boyfriend, your daughter, and the weight of grief you all share. It is beautiful to see their commitment to purity and their walk with Christ, and we join you in praying for God’s provision, strength, and hope in this season.

First, we want to encourage you in the truth that God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). The loss of your mother is fresh, and grief can feel overwhelming, but the Lord promises to be your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). We pray that He would wrap His arms of comfort around your family, reminding you that He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) and that one day, all sorrow will be turned to joy (Revelation 21:4). Lean on Him, for His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9).

For your daughter’s boyfriend, we pray that the Lord would lift his head and renew his strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). The enemy seeks to discourage and overwhelm, but we declare that God’s plans for him are *for good and not for disaster*, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask the Lord to open doors for his tuition—whether through scholarships, unexpected provision, or divine connections—and to give him wisdom as he registers for classes. If it is God’s will for him to continue in football, we pray for favor with his coaches and an opportunity to play this weekend. But even if not, we ask the Lord to remind him that his identity is not in his performance or circumstances, but in Christ alone (Galatians 2:20). May he cast his anxieties on the Lord, knowing He cares for him (1 Peter 5:7), and may he rise up with a spirit of perseverance, trusting that God is working all things for his good (Romans 8:28).

For your daughter, we pray that the Lord would fill her with His love and compassion, even in her own sorrow. May she be a vessel of encouragement to her boyfriend, speaking life and truth over him (Proverbs 16:24). We ask that God would give her a heart that reflects His—patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)—and that she would find her own strength in the Lord as she navigates this season. Remind her, too, that she cannot pour from an empty cup, so we pray she would abide in Christ, allowing Him to fill her first (John 15:5).

We also want to gently address the nature of their relationship. It is wonderful that they are committed to purity and following Jesus, but we encourage you to pray for their courtship to be intentional and God-honoring, with marriage as the ultimate goal if that is the Lord’s will. Let them seek the Lord *together* in this, asking Him to confirm whether they are to move toward a Christ-centered marriage (2 Corinthians 6:14). May they guard their hearts and their relationship, keeping Christ at the center and submitting every decision to His Word.

Finally, we want to remind you all that the battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). When the weight feels too heavy, put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in prayer. The Lord is faithful, and He will not let you be crushed (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

**Let us pray:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family and the burdens they carry. Lord, You see the grief, the financial strain, the disappointment, and the weariness—they are not hidden from You. We ask that You would be their Comforter, their Provider, and their Strength. For this young man, we pray for supernatural peace to guard his heart and mind (Philippians 4:6-7). Open doors no man can shut for his tuition, and if it is Your will, grant him the desire of his heart to play this weekend. Remind him that his worth is found in You alone, and renew his hope in Your promises.

For this young woman, we ask that You would fill her with Your love so she may extend it to others, even in her own pain. Give her wisdom, patience, and a spirit of encouragement. Bind their hearts together in You, Lord, and if it is Your will, lead them toward a godly marriage that glorifies You.

And for this mother, we pray for Your comforting presence to surround her. Heal the ache of loss, Lord, and fill the empty spaces with Your peace. Unite this family in prayer and trust in You.

We rebuke the spirit of discouragement, anxiety, and despair in Jesus’ name. Let faith arise in their hearts, and let them see Your hand moving on their behalf. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness. We trust You in this, and we give You all the glory.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

We're right there with you, sister. Our hearts ache for your daughter's boyfriend, for the weight he's carrying, and for the disappointment he's feeling. We're also feeling the heaviness of grief that your family is going through. It's a lot to bear, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted.

We join you in praying for provision for his tuition. We declare that God's plans for him are to prosper him and not to harm him, to give him a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that God would open doors for provision, and if it's His will, for him to play this weekend. But even if not, we trust that God is working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).

For your daughter, we pray that she would be a source of encouragement to him, speaking life and truth over him. We ask that God would fill her with His love and compassion, even in her own sorrow. And we pray that she would find her strength in the Lord, allowing Him to fill her first (John 15:5).

And for you, dear mother, we pray for comfort and peace. We know the ache of loss is real, but we trust that God is with you, healing and filling the empty spaces with His peace.

We claim these promises over your family: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18) and "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken" (Psalm 55:22).

We're praying for you all, and we're here if you need anything else. Let's keep lifting each other up in prayer. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting your family before the Lord these past few days. Our hearts have been burdened alongside yours for this young man—his financial struggles, his disappointment over not playing in this final game, and the heavy weight of discouragement pressing on him. We’ve also been interceding for your daughter, asking God to fill the void left by her grandmother’s passing and to give her supernatural grace to love and encourage her boyfriend with Christ’s compassion, even in her own grief.

We know the enemy would love to use this season to steal hope, but we stand firmly on Jeremiah 29:11 over this young man’s life—God *has* plans for him, plans for peace, for a future filled with purpose. We’re trusting that the Lord will provide creatively for his tuition, whether through unexpected funds, scholarships, or open doors we can’t yet see. And we’re praying that even in this last game, God would remind him of His faithfulness—perhaps through a word from a coach, a teammate, or simply the quiet assurance that his worth isn’t tied to the field.

If God has moved in this situation—whether through provision, a shift in perspective, or a tangible answer to prayer—we’d love to rejoice with you in a praise report. If the burden still feels heavy, please don’t hesitate to share an update so we can continue contending for this young man’s breakthrough and your daughter’s heart. We’re here to walk with you through the waiting, trusting that God is working even when we can’t see it yet.

May the Prince of Peace guard all your hearts as you seek Him, and may you sense His nearness in these hard but holy days. We’re still praying. In Jesus’ name.
