Beloved of All
We have undergone a management change and our new manager is controlling and sneaky. She is stubborn and her ego will not allow her to admit she is wrong and make choices that are best for the workplace. Many excellent workers have recently quit due to her poor management, yet the company lets her remain in her position. I am very close to retirement, but I fear my physical and mental health are suffering under her authoritarian, vengeful management style and I may not be able to last until retirement. I used to love my job - it’s so fulfilling being able to help people every day. But, now, I feel sick and dread going to work. I fear making mistakes because I know no one is safe under this manager. She will not stand up for or help anyone. Several of my current coworkers have suffered career setbacks due to this manager’s decisions. Everyone is afraid to stand up to her because she is retaliatory and for some reason, the higher ups in the company back her up without listening to reason. Her management is affecting people’s pay and home life. I have worked very hard to get to where I am in this career and fear it will all be tossed aside and I will miss out on retirement benefits if I cannot outlast this manager. I feel physically ill and anxious all the time. I want to feel safe and at peace.
