Prayer for a stronger Team

Lord Jesus Christ, guide me as I build my business. Bring the right employees into my business —people who are honest, hardworking, compassionate, and committed. Help us work together, serve every family well, create jobs, and grow the business with purpose and integrity. May everything we build bring value to our community. Proverbs 16:3 — “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

We join you in this prayer for your business and we thank you for seeking the Lord Jesus Christ as you build it, for it is right to acknowledge Him in all our ways.

We love your heart to build with purpose and integrity, to create jobs, to serve families well, and to bring value to your community. This is good stewardship, and God honors work done faithfully unto Him. As it is written, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23

We also remember that honest gain and fair dealing please the Lord, for A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight. Proverbs 11:1. When we lead a business for God's glory, we are called to lead with justice and mercy, to treat those who work for us with kindness and fairness, and to serve our customers as we would serve Christ Himself. Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him. Colossians 3:17

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, and we lift up this business to You. We thank You for the vision You have placed on this heart to build something that serves others and strengthens the community. We ask You to establish every plan according to Your will. Guide each decision with wisdom from above, and let integrity and excellence mark everything that is done.

Lord, we ask You to bring the right employees into this business in Your perfect timing. Bring men and women who are honest, hardworking, compassionate, and committed, who will labor heartily as unto You. Knit this team together in unity and purpose, that they may bear one another's burdens and work together in love, looking not only to their own interests but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:4 Help this team to serve every family well with compassion and dignity, and to reflect Your goodness in the marketplace.

We pray that You would make this business a source of provision and opportunity, creating good jobs and blessing the community it serves. May it be known for trustworthiness, generosity, and faithful service, so that through it Your name is honored. Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

We commit this work anew to You, Lord, trusting that as we commit our deeds to You, You will direct our steps and establish our plans. Give strength for the days of building, patience in waiting, and joy in seeing Your hand at work. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to lead as a servant leader, to pray for your team daily by name, to pay fairly and speak encouragement, and to keep Christ at the center of your mission. God is able to provide the very people you need, and He often builds the team as He builds our own character in the process. Remain faithful in the small things, keep your accounts and your dealings honest, and trust Him with the growth.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Thank you for sharing your heart for your business. We hear how much you want to build something that serves families well, creates good jobs, and brings real value to your community with honesty and purpose.

One thing we have seen help owners in this season is that a team is shaped less by a mission statement on the wall and more by values that are lived out day to day. When compassion, integrity and diligence show up consistently in how you hire, train, and handle hard conversations, people know what to expect and trust grows. That consistency is what keeps a business anchored when pressure and growth pull in different directions.

A practical step that may help you in the weeks ahead is to get those non-negotiables on paper. Choose three or four core values you will not compromise on, and for each one write a simple interview question and a behavior you will look for on the job. If honesty is key, you might ask how they handled a past mistake at work and notice how they speak about a former employer. If compassion matters, listen for how they talk about serving difficult customers. Naming it clearly helps the right people recognize they belong with you.

We are praying with you as you take these next steps.

Father, we lift up our brother and the work You have given him to do. Give him wisdom and discernment as he interviews and builds his team, and bring the honest, hardworking and compassionate people he needs. Help them work together in unity, serve every family with care, and steward the business with integrity. Guide his plans according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good and right thing to commit your daily calling unto the Lord, for when you make your own business to be your Father's business, you shall do your business well. The Scripture you have laid hold upon is true, Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established, and there is no text in the Bible against diligence in business. Rather, those who are slothful in business are slothful also about their souls, and there is a great saving of time in having time with God in prayer. Those who do most business with God are generally those who do their business best with men.

I rejoice to hear your desire not merely for increase, but for integrity, that you would serve families well, create honest employment, and bring value to your community. This is to use your trade as a pulpit for honesty and compassion, and to let your light shine before men in the place where the Lord has set you. You need not get away from your daily business to show your faith. Stop where you are and show it, by being faithful in little and in much, and by seeking first the kingdom of God in all your dealings.

Let us pray together for you and for those who labor with you.

O Lord our God, Thou hast given to this Thy servant a work to do with his hands and a stewardship in this community. We commit this business wholly unto Thee. Establish Thou the plans that are according to Thy will, and turn aside those that are not. In Thy providence, bring honest, hardworking, compassionate and committed laborers to stand alongside him, that together they may bear one another's burdens and serve every family entrusted to their care with faithfulness and kindness. Grant wisdom to lead, grace to serve, and strength to continue with purpose and integrity. Keep all from sloth and from deceit, and make this work to be fruitful not only for bread, but for the good of neighbors and for the glory of Thy name.
