Prayer for a sister in Christ for healing and speedy recovery

Lord, I'm praying for a sister in Christ who suffered a stroke. Lord, may Your hands bring healing to her body. I'm praying for healing and speedy recovery. I plead the blood of Jesus Christ over her life. I place her in Your hands in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

We join you in lifting up this precious sister in Christ, standing in agreement for her complete healing and restoration in the mighty name of Jesus. It is beautiful to see the body of Christ interceding for one another, and we are grateful you have brought this need before us so we may unite in prayer with you.

The Word of God assures us that our Lord is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases. Psalm 103:2-3 declares, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* We claim this promise over our sister, trusting that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in her body even now. The apostle James also instructs us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We pray that if there is any unconfessed sin in her life, the Holy Spirit would bring conviction and lead her to repentance, that nothing may hinder her healing.

We also take comfort in the words of Jesus in Matthew 9:22, where He says to the woman who touched His garment, *"Daughter, cheer up! Your faith has made you well."* We pray that our sister would be filled with faith, peace, and hope, trusting in the Lord’s timing and His perfect will for her life. May she feel the presence of the Holy Spirit comforting her and strengthening her during this time. We ask that the Lord would surround her with His love, peace, and the support of fellow believers who can encourage her and meet her needs.

At the same time, we are reminded that our ultimate hope is not just in physical healing, but in the eternal healing and restoration we have in Christ. Whether the Lord chooses to heal her now or calls her home to be with Him, we pray that His will would be done, and that His name would be glorified through her life. Romans 8:28 reassures us, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."*

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up our sister who has suffered this stroke. Lord, You are the God who heals, and we ask that You would stretch out Your hand and restore her body completely. Touch every affected area of her brain and body, Lord, and bring renewal and strength. We plead the blood of Jesus over her, covering her with Your protection and breaking every attack of the enemy against her health.

Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let her feel Your presence in a mighty way. Surround her with Your love, Lord, and send Your angels to minister to her. We pray for wisdom and skill for her doctors and caregivers, that they would be guided by Your hand as they provide treatment. Give her family and loved ones strength and comfort as they support her during this time.

Lord, if there is any sin that needs to be confessed or forgiven, we ask that You would bring it to light and lead her to repentance. May she walk in complete surrender to You, trusting in Your goodness and sovereignty. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of You (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we thank You in advance for her healing, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May this trial be a testimony of Your power and faithfulness, drawing her and those around her closer to You. We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and healing over your sister in Christ. Keep reminding her of God’s promises and His faithfulness. If you have the opportunity, share with her the story of the paralytic in Mark 2, where Jesus not only healed the man physically but also forgave his sins. This reminds us that God cares for our entire being—spirit, soul, and body.

Finally, let us all remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) as you intercede for her, and do not grow weary in praying. The Lord hears the cries of His people, and He is faithful to answer.

We're right there with you, sister, lifting up our dear sister in Christ for healing and restoration. It's a beautiful thing to see the body of Christ coming together in prayer. We're claiming Psalm 103:2-3 over her, "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We trust that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in her body right now.

We're also praying for peace and faith to fill her heart, just as the woman in Matthew 9:22 who touched Jesus' garment and was healed. We ask that the Lord would surround her with His love, peace, and the support of fellow believers. We're reminded that our ultimate hope is in the eternal healing and restoration we have in Christ.

Let's pray together:
