Easy Divorce
Marriage demands lifelong commitment and asks us to choose partners wisely and endure hardships patiently.
Seeking for Jesus
Seek Jesus not for earthly gain but for salvation from sin by trusting Him alone.
Meanness of Infidelity
Rejecting faith offers no comfort or hope and asks the listener to choose the light of truth over empty doubt.
We join you in bringing this deep hurt and longing before the Lord, and we understand how painful it is to have the hope of marriage broken a couple of months ago and to still carry love and questions about what God wants for your future. We pray with you that God's perfect will would be done, whether that means restoration or a different path that He has prepared for you.

We want to gently encourage you to test what you have felt in your heart against the truth of Scripture. Feelings can be very strong, especially after a broken engagement, but the heart can mislead us. As it is written, The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt, who can know it Jeremiah 17:9. That is why we are called to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We encourage you to seek wisdom through prayer, through the Word, and through wise godly counsel, asking God for clarity rather than holding tightly to what you felt He was saying before. God has good plans for His children, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and He will make His will clear as you surrender fully to Him.

We also want to speak about God's design for marriage, because you mentioned you were going to marry. We strongly affirm marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God, and we pray for marriages that reflect Christ's love for the church. A time of dating or engagement should be seen as courtship with the clear goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. Scripture teaches, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, so if restoration is considered, we encourage you both to honestly examine whether you both are walking with Christ, whether you share faith, values, and a commitment to purity. If there was any sexual intimacy outside of marriage during your courtship, we lovingly call that what Scripture calls it, fornication, and urge repentance and a commitment to flee from sexual immorality and to honor God with your bodies, keeping the marriage bed pure Hebrews 13:4. True restoration must be built on repentance, forgiveness, purity, and a shared desire to honor God together, not simply on emotion or history.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we urge you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, and following Him. It is in His name and by His blood that we can boldly bring every broken piece of our lives to God.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. You see the grief, the confusion, and the hope that remains after this breakup. Lord, we ask for Your healing upon this heart and for Your perfect will to be done. If it is Your will for this relationship to be rebuilt and to lead to a godly marriage that honors You, we pray You would work in both hearts, bring true repentance where needed, bring forgiveness, bring wise counsel, and draw you both closer to Christ first. If it is not Your will, we pray You would give grace to release this desire, to find peace and wholeness in You, and to trust that You have something better. Grant wisdom liberally as You have promised, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Help this dear one to delight in You first, trusting that You will give the desires of your heart as you align with Your will Psalm 37:4. Guard against clinging to a past promise that may have been understood through pain, and help to hear Your voice clearly through Scripture and prayer. We ask that You would be glorified in this story, that purity, truth, and Christ would be at the center of any future courtship and marriage, and that Your peace which passes understanding would guard this heart. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in His Word and prayer, to surround yourself with mature believers who can speak truth and counsel, and to surrender this relationship fully to Him, praying not only let us be together but let Your will be done. We know that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28, and we trust that as you seek Him first, He will lead you step by step into the future He has for you, whether that includes restoration with this man through a Christ-centered marriage or healing and preparation for what He has next.

We hear the ache in what you shared, and we are honored you brought this to us. Loving someone you planned to marry and then facing a breakup a few months ago leaves a deep kind of grief, and it makes sense that you would still be holding hope and wondering what God is doing.

Wanting to know if restoration is still God's will is a good and honest prayer. When feelings have been so strong that it felt like God was confirming you would end up together, it can be hard to untangle hope, memory, and His leading. We have found it helps to hold that sense loosely before the Lord over time, asking Him to make His direction clear through peace, wisdom and the counsel of people who know you well, rather than trying to figure it all out at once.

A steady next step we would encourage is to give both of you space to heal while you seek clarity. That can mean respecting your ex's boundaries and not pressing for reconciliation, and inviting one trusted pastor or mentor who knows your story to walk with you, pray with you and help you discern what is wise next. Staying rooted in your own walk with the Lord right now will serve you whatever He has ahead.

Father, we lift our friend to You in this tender season. Bring comfort in the grief, guard their heart from confusion and give clear wisdom for each decision. If it is Your will to restore this relationship, we ask You to gently lead that in Your time and way. If not, lead toward healing and peace. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has come before us with its weight of sorrow and longing, and we have carried it to the Lord in prayer. To love one whom you hoped to marry, and then to be parted, leaves the heart wounded, and we do not make light of that pain.

There is a word that must be spoken in love for your good. The heart will often say, I feel that God has told me this must be, we will be restored, we will marry, we will have our way. Yet Scripture warns us against such confidence in our own desires. The merchants in James said, we will go, we will continue, we will buy and sell and get gain, but they left out the one thing needful, if the Lord will. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. His will is the axle of the universe, and He is King, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. While many of His purposes are hidden from us, there is a revealed will which we must not violate, and we must always feel, if the Lord wills, we shall do this or that.

It is not safe to take a strong feeling, even a religious feeling, as a certain voice from God that a particular outcome must happen. Our feelings must be tried by the Word, by prayer, by the counsel of godly and sober minded believers, and by time. God does not save men against their wills, yet the work of His Spirit, which is the effect of His will, is to change the human will and make men willing in the day of His power. If restoration and marriage be truly of the Lord, He is able to work in both hearts to will and to do of His good pleasure. You need not strive to force what only sovereign grace can accomplish.

We also hear your hope for rebuilding. Marriage, as Scripture sets it forth, is not a light or temporary bond, but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, entered before God with solemn vows. It is a holy estate, and all that belongs to it, including living together and the union of the body, belongs within that covenant alone. Whatever rebuilding may or may not come, walk now in purity and in holiness, for that is the revealed will of God for you, and no supposed leading toward marriage can set it aside.

For the brokenness you feel, there is a sure comfort. The Psalmist speaks of bones which God has broken, and asks that they may rejoice. To have hope broken and love disappointed is to be reduced to pain, and a wounded spirit who can bear. Yet there is One who binds up the broken hearted. He heals just such broken hearts as yours. If you will but trust in Jesus, you will find that even this sorrow shall be for your good, and He will let you see mercy in it. The joy He gives afterward will be fuller of Himself than any joy you knew before. He devises means to bring back His banished ones, and He can make a way where there seems to be no way, but He does so in His own time and for His own glory.

Therefore we have prayed, and will continue to pray, not that our will or your will be done without condition, but that the Lord's will be done. We have asked the Lord to draw you nearer to Christ, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and all true peace rests there. We have asked Him to give you a quiet submission to His sovereign hand, to heal your broken heart, to keep you from bitterness and from impurity, to grant you wisdom and patient counsel, and to make His path plain to you. If it be His will to restore this relationship and to lead you both into a holy marriage covenant, we pray He would do so by making both hearts willing, by deepening repentance and forgiveness, and by establishing you in truth. If it be not His will, we pray He would give you grace to accept it, to be content in Him, and to serve Him with an undivided heart.

Seek the Lord daily in His Word, continue in prayer, and place yourself under the care of faithful pastors and mature believers who can walk with you. Do not pursue restoration by pressure or by compromise, but commit your way unto Him, trusting that no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

May the Lord, who has mercy on whom He will have mercy, be your comfort and your guide, and may His will, which is good and wise and gracious, be your rest.

We join you in prayer in this season of loss and longing, and we thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. The pain of a broken engagement is deep, and it is right to bring that pain to the Lord and to seek His will above our own desires.

It is understandable to feel strongly that God had shown you a future together, especially when love and hope were so strong. Yet our hearts can be very persuasive, and feelings alone are not always a clear guide to God's voice. Scripture calls us to test what we believe we have heard by the Word of God, by prayer, by wise counsel from mature believers, and by the peace that comes from surrendering our plans to Him. What comforts us is that God is faithful and He will not allow you to be tested beyond what you can bear, but with every trial He also provides a way to endure and to grow in holiness.

We will pray that the Lord gives you clarity, healing, and a deeper trust in His providence. If it is His will to restore and rebuild this relationship toward a holy marriage, we pray He would do so in a way that honors Him, with both of you walking in purity, truth, and mutual respect. Marriage is honorable when it is entered as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, kept pure and ordered toward faithfulness and the good of one another. That holiness is preserved not by living together or sharing the privileges of marriage before vows are made, but by choosing chastity, self control, and reverence for God in this waiting time.

If it is not His will to bring you back together, we pray He would gently close that door, heal your heart, and lead each of you into the future He has prepared, whether that is marriage with another or a season of devoted service to Him as you are. In either case, do not rest your hope on a past relationship or on a sense of what must happen, but on Christ Himself, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father. Seek Him first, continue in prayer, stay rooted in Scripture, and invite trusted pastors or godly mentors to walk with you and speak honestly into your situation.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You through Jesus Christ Your Son. You know the sorrow of this breakup and the desire for restoration. Grant wisdom to discern Your will, strength to walk in purity and holiness, and grace to accept Your answer with faith. If it is Your good plan to restore this relationship, we ask that You would rebuild it on a foundation of truth, repentance where needed, forgiveness, and commitment to You. If not, we ask that You would bring healing, guard the heart from clinging to what is not from You, and lead forward in peace. Help this life to glorify You in all things, and to find its deepest hope not in any human relationship but in Christ alone. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
