I don't think any creature is exempt from God's care and God's mercy, and animals that have a special relationship with a person may be cared about a great deal. I have also learned a lot about fish in the last few years; I have had goldfish most of my life, but it was only after I started learning to interact with them that I learned they are as sentient as you or I, just with a different set of tools for interacting with the world. I went fifty years without knowing they were even aware of us. My fish is sick and needs God's help.

This fish recognizes every member of our human family and likes to come to the glass and hang around with us. It has an eye problem that is obviously quite painful; we are in touch with ichthyologists (owing to my wife's job) and are doing all we know how including medication and cleaning the water. But the eye swelled to very large proportions in the last 24 hours and I am afraid the fish will lose it as apparently sometimes happens. The fish is ignoring its companion and seems to be trying to communicate its distress to me and I do not know what else I can do.

If you love God's creatures and will pray for this little fish, I will be very grateful for your prayers. It is very pale gold in color with an orange vertical stripe on the stabilizer just forwards of the tail fins; the left eye is the one with the swelling. It is not so little anymore, having recently grown to about four inches in length. It lives a few miles north of San Francisco, up in the hills. Thank you, and may God always bless you and your loved ones.

I prayed for your goldfish. Have faith and know the Lord will heal his left eye. I agree all creatures great and small are precious in his sight.

We once had a cat who had a huge lump on the side of his leg (the size of a golf ball) They said it was cancer. 3 vets wanted to put him down, however we refused. We found another vet, had the lump surgically removed where a great deal of his muscle was taken out. I prayed and prayed and asked God to make him whole again. He healed beautifully. He was 12 years old at the time. He just passed away this past August at the ripe old age of 22. He was a cat from the shelter. I adopted him right after my parents divorced when I was very depressed. He needed me & I needed him. He had a very good life with my mom and I. We were very grateful we shared the journey with him.

Have Faith your fish will heal just as our Mickey did.

This may sound strange, but this request is for our dog, ###. Although he is a dog, he is part of our family. He’s been diagnosed with cancer. He’s not in pain, but he is lethargic. The vet gave him medicine to help and to give us more time together, but the medication doesn’t seem to be...
