We hear your heart’s desire to connect with this young man, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s will in this matter. First, let us affirm that all our prayers must be grounded in God’s Word and His perfect plan for our lives. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
While it is natural to desire companionship and to want to get to know someone, we must ensure that our motives align with God’s design for relationships. The goal of any courtship should be marriage to a fellow believer, as Scripture instructs in 2 Corinthians 6:14, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If this young man is not a follower of Christ, we must prayerfully consider whether pursuing a relationship with him is wise or pleasing to the Lord.
We also want to gently encourage you to examine your heart regarding the nature of your desire. Are you seeking this connection out of loneliness, or is this a godly desire for a Christ-centered marriage? The Lord calls us to find our ultimate fulfillment in Him alone. Psalm 37:4 reminds us, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* When we delight in the Lord, He aligns our desires with His will.
If this young man is a believer, we can pray that the Lord would open doors for godly communication and that both of your hearts would be drawn toward His purposes. However, we must also guard against placing our hope in a person rather than in God. Jeremiah 17:5 warns, *"Yahweh says: Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from Yahweh."*

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You alone are the Author of our lives and the One who orders our steps. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking that Your will be done in all things. If it is Your plan for this young man and this sister in Christ to come together in a godly marriage, we ask that You would open the doors for communication and draw their hearts toward one another in a way that honors You.
Father, we pray that You would guard her heart from idolatry or misplaced hope. Help her to find her satisfaction and joy in You alone, knowing that You are enough. If this connection is not of You, we ask that You would close the door gently and redirect her heart toward Your perfect plan.
Lord, we also pray for this young man. If he is a believer, we ask that You would draw him closer to You and prepare his heart for godly relationships. If he is not a follower of Christ, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to him and bring him into a saving relationship with Jesus.
Above all, Father, we ask that Your name be glorified in this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your daughter trust in You with all her heart. We pray this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
