Prayer for a miracle today

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for wanting the power and love of Jesus Christ to be at work in your life, especially on your birthday. I hear how deep your longing is for healing and how painful this separation has been, and I am grateful you have brought this burden to the Lord.

We have prayed for you, and we want to pray with you in a way that honors what Scripture teaches about God’s love and His will. God does work miracles, and His greatest miracle is to heal our hearts, forgive our sins through Jesus Christ alone, and make us whole in Him. He loves you deeply and He is near to the brokenhearted, and He desires your healing and peace even more than you do.

Because we want to pray according to God’s Word, we cannot ask God to bless or restore a dating relationship as such. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. God calls us to pursue purity, holiness and wholeness in Christ first, whether or not a relationship is restored. To pray for your ex-boyfriend simply to come back would not be to seek God’s best for either of you.

So instead, we have prayed and will continue to pray for what God has promised to give. We pray that on your birthday and in the days ahead, God will bring you comfort, healing from hurt, forgiveness where it is needed, and a deeper experience of His love through Jesus. We pray that He will draw both you and your ex-boyfriend closer to Himself, that each of you would know salvation and hope through Christ alone, and that He would give you wisdom, peace and strength to trust His will, even when it is painful and unclear.

If reconciliation and conversation is part of God’s will, we pray it would be with clear boundaries, mutual respect, and a desire to honor Him, whether that leads in time toward a God honoring marriage or toward a healthy and peaceful closure with forgiveness. If it is not His will for you to be together, we pray He will still bring the healing you asked for, not by keeping the old relationship alive, but by healing each heart and helping you both to walk forward in grace and truth.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in Scripture, to stay connected to a faithful local church where you can receive personal care and accountability, and to guard your heart by trusting God with your future rather than looking to another person to make you whole. The Lord who loves you is able to give you joy and hope on your birthday that does not depend on whether someone returns, but on His unfailing presence with you.

May the Lord bless you in this new year of life, keep you close to Jesus, heal what is broken, and lead you in His perfect love and wisdom.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for inviting prayer on your birthday. The longing for healing after a broken relationship is deep and painful, and it is good that you are bringing it to Jesus.

I want to encourage you with what Scripture shows about where true healing begins. God does not want a distant or ritual connection with you, where you try to earn His favor by saying the right words or performing the right actions. He wants a close, loving relationship with you as your Father. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, and that word Father speaks of intimacy, care, and belonging. Through faith in Jesus Christ alone, you are known by God and brought into that living relationship, not a legal one where you are constantly trying to prove yourself.

The Bible also shows that your relationship with God is like the center axis of your life. When that vertical relationship is right, it affects every other relationship. When it is out of balance, other relationships become out of balance too. Often we try to fix one human relationship while neglecting the most important one, but God invites you to come back to Him first, to deepen your love for Him and to rest in how much He loves you. As that relationship grows healthy, the fruit of love, peace, and wisdom begins to appear naturally in your life, not because you are striving harder, but as the natural outcome of abiding in Christ.

Healing is also something God does in His own way and timing. Scripture shows that Jesus healed in different ways. Sometimes healing was immediate, sometimes it was gradual, and often God brings healing that is emotional and inward, mending the wounds and scars in the heart and mind. That kind of healing is just as real and divine as physical healing. Whatever has been broken between you and this young man, God is able to heal your heart, to bring peace where there has been hurt, and to make you whole in Him whether or not the relationship is restored.

God loves you and He also loves the man you mentioned, and He cares about both of you. His design for romantic love is that it finds its full expression within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and He calls us to honor Him with our relationships in purity and self giving love. Rather than asking God to simply bring back what was, the most loving prayer is to ask Him to do what is truly best and most healing according to His will, and to shape both of you to know Him more.

So I am praying with you today in that way. I pray that on your birthday you would experience in a fresh way the power and love of Jesus, that you would know yourself deeply loved as His daughter, forgiven and held by Him. I pray that He would bring healing to the hurt you carry, calm your heart, and give you wisdom and peace about this past relationship. I pray that God would work in both lives to bring reconciliation where it is right and healthy, and where it is not His will to reunite you romantically, that He would still bring forgiveness, kindness, and closure, and not bitterness. Above all I pray that your first love would be Jesus Himself, and that out of that fullness every other part of your life would find its proper balance in Him.

May the Lord draw you close, comfort you, and lead you step by step in His perfect love and wisdom.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for a miraculous breakthrough of the power and the love of Jesus Christ on your birthday.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord and to stand with you for healing in your life and in your relationship with your ex boyfriend. We prayed that God would bring healing back into your life and back into your relationship, and that He would open the way for communication to be restored. We prayed that His power and His love would be made real to you both on your birthday, whether that leads to reconciliation together or to His healing and peace even if you do not get back together. We trust that God cares deeply about your heart and that He hears every prayer offered with all our heart and all our life.

We take comfort in His word that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3 and that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18.
