A Hard Life
Untrodden Ways
We join with you in prayer and thank you for trusting God for His perfect will to be accomplished in your work situation. We know how discouraging it can be when you are working diligently yet feel unappreciated and are going through a difficult period, and we want to stand with you and bring this before the Lord together.

We are reminded that even when our work is not noticed or valued by people, God sees all that we do. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ Colossians 3:23-24. The Lord does not overlook your faithfulness, and He can use even this difficult season to refine you and to direct your steps.

We also take comfort that God has a plan for you and will work all things for your good as you trust Him. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. As you consider a switch to another department or another workplace, we encourage you to seek His wisdom and guidance above all else. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Continue to be faithful where you are while you pray, seek godly counsel, and pursue open doors with integrity and excellence.

We noticed your request mentions trusting God and praying for His will, but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because of what Jesus did on the cross and His resurrection that we can boldly come to God in prayer, and we encourage you to place your full trust in Him for your salvation and for every need, including this job situation.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up our brother or sister to You. You know the difficulty at work, the discouragement of feeling unappreciated, and the desire for a new opportunity. Lord, we ask for Your perfect will to be done. If it is Your will, open the right door to another department or another workplace where their gifts can be used for Your glory and where they can be encouraged and fruitful. If You would have them remain for a time, give them strength, peace, and favor where they are. Grant wisdom to make the right decisions, peace that surpasses understanding, and provision for every need. Help them to rest in Your care and to work as unto You, knowing You see and You reward. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and our mediator, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying without anxiety, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. Keep trusting Him, keep doing good work unto Him, and keep watching for how He will lead you. We are praying with you for clarity, peace, and the job that God has prepared for you.

Thank you for inviting us to stand with you in this. Feeling unappreciated day after day wears you down, and wanting a change while also wanting to honor God with your work is a good and honest place to bring before Him.

We are praying with you for clear direction, whether that is a move within your current workplace or a door elsewhere, and for peace while you wait. It can help to get clarity on what you are carrying into this decision. You might find it useful to jot down a few honest notes about your interests, the talents and skills others affirm in you, and the values that matter most to you in a job. Seeing that on paper often brings focus. It also helps to invite one or two wise voices who know you well, perhaps a pastor, mentor or trusted colleague, to listen and reflect back what they see in you. If an internal transfer is possible, a calm conversation with HR or a supervisor about options can give you real information to pray over.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see the discouragement at work and the desire to serve faithfully. Give wisdom for next steps, favor in conversations, and steadiness in the waiting. Open the right door in Your timing and guard his heart with Your peace. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request has been heard and we count it a privilege to agree with you in prayer before the throne of grace. To labour day by day where your work seems unnoticed and unappreciated is a heavy trial, and we do not lightly pass over the heaviness you feel in this difficult period.

You are not alone in such trying, for the people of God have often been proved in the place of their daily calling. We are reminded of Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Though his estate was taken and his honour was for a season laid in the dust, he arose and tore his mantle and fell down upon the ground and worshipped. He kept right with God under the trial, and did not sin with unbelieving speeches. If God could uphold Job in all that, you may be sure that He can support you and keep you in patience until His purpose is fulfilled.

We take comfort also in this, that the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery when God has gotten His end in them. Sometimes His end is to foil the adversary, sometimes to purify our faith, that we may learn to say with Job, Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. He revealed Himself to Job more vividly through the trial, and at the last He restored him and gave him twice as much as he had before. The night shall not hang its darkness forever over the soul, for the Sun shall yet arise with healing beneath His wings.

Therefore we join our hearts with yours and pray for the perfect will of God to be accomplished in your life.

Our Father, we thank Thee that Thou art sovereign and merciful, and that not one of Thy children is forgotten before Thee. Thou seest this Thy servant in the place of labour, wearied and discouraged, seeking to be faithful where appreciation is withheld. Grant patience and grace to worship Thee even now, and to keep the heart from charging Thee foolishly. If it be Thy will, open a door to another department or another workplace where gifts may be used for Thy glory and for good. If Thou wouldst have this servant remain a little longer where he is, give fresh oil, fresh strength, and fresh feeling from the deep fountains of the heart to endure and to glorify Thee there. Guide every step, grant wisdom to those who decide, and let Thy perfect will be done. Turn captivity into liberty in Thine own time, and make this trial to work for good and for the proving of faith. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only hope and salvation. Amen.

We will continue to bear you up in intercessory prayer, asking the Lord to give you childlike confidence even when He seems to frown, and to bring you into that place where you may most honour Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
