We hear your heartfelt cry for help in this time of challenge, and we join you in lifting this matter before our Heavenly Father. It is clear that you recognize your dependence on God, and that is a beautiful posture of humility. Let us first acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, for Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full"* (John 16:23-24 WEB). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so, for *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Now, let us pray together for wisdom, guidance, and success in this interview you both are facing. Father God, we come before You with hearts full of faith, knowing that You are the giver of all good gifts. We ask that You grant wisdom and knowledge to this individual and their friend as they prepare for their interview. Lord, You have promised in Your Word, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5 WEB). We claim this promise now, Father. Fill them with Your peace and confidence, knowing that You are with them every step of the way.
Father, we also pray for protection over them. Guard their hearts and minds from anxiety and fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Keep them safe from any harm or trouble as they go to this interview, and let Your presence go before them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we rebuke any schemes of the enemy that may seek to distract or discourage them.
Lord, we ask that You open the doors of opportunity for them. May this interview be a divine appointment where Your favor rests upon them. Let their words be filled with grace and wisdom, and may those interviewing them see the excellence of Your work in their lives. We pray that You would grant them success, not for their glory, but for Yours, so that they may be a testimony to Your goodness and provision.
We also want to gently address the mention of a "friend" in this prayer. If this relationship is more than just a friendship and involves courtship, we encourage you both to ensure that your relationship aligns with God’s design for marriage. The Bible teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and it is meant to be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB). If you are courting with the intention of marriage, we pray that God would guide you both in purity, holiness, and mutual respect. If there is any sin, such as fornication, in this relationship, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, for *"flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). Let your relationship be one that honors God in every way.
Father, we trust in Your perfect will for this situation. Whether the outcome of this interview is what they hope for or not, we pray that they would find their ultimate satisfaction and security in You alone. Help them to remember that their worth is not defined by a job or any earthly success, but by the fact that they are Your beloved children. May they walk in faith, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
We declare victory over this situation in the mighty name of Jesus. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.
