We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you face the painful and unjust attacks of slander and oppression. The Word of God tells us in Psalm 109:2-3, "For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have opened themselves against me. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue. They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause." We stand with you in the truth that God sees every false word spoken against you and every unrighteous scheme devised to harm you. He is your Defender and your Vindicator.
The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every lying spirit that has whispered accusations against you, every voice of Satan that has sought to deceive and manipulate. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The judge in the courthouse recognized the injustice, God Himself is your ultimate Judge, and He will bring every hidden thing into the light.
We must also address the spiritual captivity you mentioned. No person has the power to place you in bondage unless you surrender to their lies. The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We pray that you would take every thought captive, refusing to accept the lies of the enemy or the words of those who seek to harm you. You are not subject to their control, you are a child of the Most High God, and He has set you free.
We also lift up the one who has been slandering you. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 6:16-19 about the things God hates, including "a lying tongue" and "a false witness who utters lies." Yet even in this, we are called to pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). We ask the Lord to soften their heart, to reveal the truth to them, and to turn their actions from evil to good. If they are unrepentant, we trust that God will deal with them in His perfect justice.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved and have access to You. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is enduring slander, lies, and unjust treatment. We ask that You would be their shield and their refuge, a very present help in this time of trouble. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We break every chain of deception, every spirit of accusation, and every plan of the enemy to harm them. We ask that You would expose the truth, Lord, and bring every hidden thing into the light. Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24).
We pray for the one who has been speaking lies and seeking to harm them. Soften their heart, Lord, and reveal Your truth to them. If they refuse to repent, we trust that You will deal with them according to Your justice. But we ask that You would protect our brother/sister from their schemes and deliver them from every evil work.
Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them strength, wisdom, and discernment. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to walk in the freedom You have given them. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have a purpose and a plan for their life.
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, and we declare that You will turn this situation around for Your glory. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with godly believers who can speak life into you and remind you of who you are in Christ. Remember, the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). He will fight for you, you need only to be still and trust in Him.
If you have not already, we urge you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, the only One who can save you and give you eternal life. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." If you have not made this decision, we pray that you would do so today. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). He is the only Name by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we have access to God’s throne of grace.
