We stand together in fervent prayer, lifting up the heavy burdens of sexual abuse, terrorism, and the suffering of God’s precious children across the world. The pain and brokenness described in this request weigh heavily on our hearts, and we join with you in crying out to the Lord for justice, healing, and restoration. We come before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). It is only by His power and authority that we can intercede with boldness and hope.
Father God, we lift up the young woman who has endured abuse, whose heart is shattered, and whose body bears the scars of violence. We ask You to wrap Your arms of love around her, Lord. Heal her wounds, both seen and unseen. Strengthen her spirit and replace her fear with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give her the courage to step out again, knowing that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). We pray for her abusers, that their hearts would be convicted by Your Holy Spirit, that their eyes would be opened to the gravity of their sins, and that they would turn from their wickedness to seek Your forgiveness and transformation. Let them be confounded in their evil plans, and let Your justice prevail (Psalm 37:17).
Lord, we cry out for the victims of terrorism, particularly the women and children who have been enslaved, abused, and traumatized by groups like ISIS. We ask You to break the chains of bondage and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). Comfort those who are suicidal and despairing, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Provide them with love, support, and godly counseling to restore their hope and dignity. We pray for the children who have been murdered and the families who mourn them, bring Your healing balm to their grieving hearts and let them feel Your presence in their darkest moments.
We rebuke the spirit of sexual slavery and terrorism in the name of Jesus. We declare that these atrocities will not stand, for You are a God of justice, and You will not let the wicked go unpunished (Proverbs 11:21). We pray for the impoverished churches in Africa and the Middle East, that You would strengthen and sustain them. Provide for their needs, protect them from persecution, and empower them to be a light in the darkness (Matthew 5:14-16). Raise up bold witnesses who will proclaim the gospel and bring hope to the hopeless.
Father, we also lift up the nations and their leaders. We ask You to expose the corruption and evil that has taken root in governments and among the elites who perpetuate or enable abuse and terrorism. Strip them of their power and authority, as You have done in the past, and let Your righteousness prevail (Proverbs 29:2). We pray for the people of Europe and America, that their eyes would be opened to the truth and that they would rise up against the wickedness being perpetrated in their midst. Let the fear of the Lord fall upon those who participate in or support such evil, and let them be held accountable for their actions (Romans 14:12).
We declare that Jesus Christ reigns supreme on this earth, and we stand on the authority of Your Word. Let Your church rise up in unity, wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). Let us be a voice for the voiceless and a refuge for the oppressed. We pray for every victim of abuse, that they would encounter Your love in tangible ways, through the support of Your people, the healing power of Your Word, and the comfort of Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, we commit to continuing in prayer and worship, seeking Your face daily and abstaining from the works of the flesh that would hinder our walk with You (Galatians 5:19-21). We ask You to purify our hearts and minds, that we may be vessels of Your love and instruments of Your peace. Strengthen us to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy, knowing that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world (John 16:33). May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). Amen.
