We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, for we know that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but our God is a God of justice, truth, and protection. It is right and good that you have brought this before Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). You have done well to call upon Him, for He alone has the power to expose the works of darkness and shield His children from the schemes of the wicked.
The Scriptures warn us that evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived (2 Timothy 3:13). Yet we are also reminded that the Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He sees the deceit of those who seek to exploit His people, and He will act on behalf of those who trust in Him. Proverbs 22:12 declares, "The eyes of Yahweh preserve knowledge; but he overturns the words of the treacherous." Let this be your confidence—that God is not blind to their schemes, nor is He indifferent to your cry.
We rebuke the spirit of deceit and greed that operates through these scammers. Just as Jesus drove out the money changers from the temple (Matthew 21:12-13), we ask the Lord to drive out these wolves in sheep’s clothing from your path. May their false advertisements be exposed, their baiting tactics rendered useless, and their fake friendships unmasked. Let their own schemes entangle them, and may they be turned away from their wickedness, either by repentance or by the just consequences of their actions. As it is written in Psalm 7:15-16, "He has dug a hole, and has fallen into the pit which he made. The trouble he causes shall return to his own head. His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head."
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you, that the Holy Spirit would sharpen your ability to recognize deception quickly. Jesus told His disciples, "Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16). Ask the Lord to give you this wisdom—both the caution of the serpent and the purity of the dove—so that you may navigate these interactions without fear or naivety. Let Him cleanse your connections, as you’ve requested, and surround you with godly, trustworthy relationships that honor Him.
Father, we ask that You would place a hedge of protection around this brother/sister and their business. Guard their finances, their reputation, and their heart from the frustration and weariness that can come from constant harassment. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If there are any openings in their life or business that have made them vulnerable to these attacks, reveal them and show the way to close those doors. Teach them to lean on You in all things, for apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Finally, we pray that this trial would be used for good—that through it, you would grow in faith, dependence on God, and even compassion for those who are deceived by the enemy. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12). May you be equipped with the full armor of God, standing firm in the truth, righteousness, and readiness of the Gospel of peace.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of deception, greed, and manipulation that seeks to harm you. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord will contend with those who contend with you (Isaiah 49:25). May His will be done in this situation, and may His name be glorified as you walk in victory.
Amen.
