We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with earnest prayer and seeking His justice, protection, and healing. First, we must address the mention of witchcraft in this request. The Bible is clear that witchcraft, sorcery, and any form of occult practice are detestable to the Lord. In Deuteronomy 18:10-12, it says, "There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh." If these relatives are indeed engaging in such practices, we must rebuke this in the name of Jesus Christ, for He has already triumphed over all darkness.
We also recognize the pain of betrayal and theft, especially when it comes from family. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 15:27, "He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house," and in Micah 2:2, "They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage." What these relatives have done is not only a violation of earthly law but a grievous sin against God’s commandments. We stand with you in praying for justice, restoration, and the conviction of their hearts by the Holy Spirit.
However, we must also examine our own hearts in this situation. Romans 12:19 reminds us, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" While it is right to seek justice, we must guard against bitterness, unforgiveness, or a desire for revenge. Instead, we are called to forgive as Christ has forgiven us (Colossians 3:13) and to trust God to be our defender. This does not mean we ignore wrongdoing, but we release the burden of vengeance to the Lord.
We also want to gently address the language used in this request. The use of symbols or coded language to refer to people can sometimes reflect unresolved anger or a heart that is not fully surrendered to God’s peace. Ephesians 4:29 says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." We encourage you to speak of these relatives with words that reflect a heart seeking God’s will, even in the midst of pain.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine intervention. We rebuke every spirit of witchcraft, sorcery, and darkness that may be operating against this individual or their household. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
Father, we ask for Your justice to prevail in this situation. If these relatives have stolen, we pray that You would restore what has been taken, whether materially, emotionally, or spiritually. We ask that You would convict their hearts of their sin and draw them to repentance. If they refuse to turn from their wicked ways, we trust You to deal with them according to Your perfect justice.
Lord, we also pray for healing in this individual’s heart. The pain of betrayal, especially from family, can run deep. We ask that You would comfort them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to release any bitterness, anger, or desire for revenge into Your hands. Teach them to forgive as You have forgiven them, and to trust You as their defender and provider.
We pray for protection over this individual and their household. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let no harm come near them (Psalm 91:10-11). Shield their mind, body, and spirit from any attacks of the enemy, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is greater than anything in this world (1 John 4:4).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. If there is any way that this trial can be turned into a testimony, we pray that You would do so. Draw this individual closer to You through this hardship, and let their faith be strengthened as they see Your hand at work in their life.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In closing, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this situation. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with godly counsel and community, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). And remember, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your strength, your shield, and your ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
